replaced old Roku 3 with an unopened roku3 but problems persist

My 2013 Roku3 recently began having problems ff, rewinding losing audio and sometimes screen goes grey and says loading. If I did system restart,it would work ok initially, then problems would reoccur. So I had another Roku 3 , never been opened, thinking that would solve the problem, but nope, same situation. Any idea what is the solution???

My guess would be that the Roku 3 (all of them) can't keep up with the bloat that has infected the Roku firmware and various apps.  It's probably time to just retire them.  It generally happens to all computers over time and Roku devices are nothing more than little computers.
