RokuTV not connecting to app or other devices

Jump to solution

Hello! My RokuTV is connected to the internet and can stream perfectly. However, the phone app is unable to connect to the TV, and neither can my Google Home.

Any solutions? I’ve tried disconnecting the TV from the internet and I’m not sure what else to try

Thank you for reporting this issue to the Roku Community, @alled!

We understand that you are experiencing difficulty connecting your Roku mobile app to your Roku device, and we are here to help you with that.

Have you checked if the email address associated with your Roku device is the same as the login for your Roku mobile app? It's essential to ensure that both are identical. Furthermore, please make sure that your phone is connected to the same network as your Roku device. We also recommend restarting your internet router. This should help resolve the issue. You can also manually connect your Roku mobile app to your Roku device.

Here are the detailed instructions on how to manually connect with the Roku mobile app:

Locate the IP address of your Roku device by going to Settings > Network > About, and then use the steps below to connect manually.

  1. Launch the Roku mobile app.
  2. Tap Devices.
  3. Tap Get help?
  4. Select Connect manually.
  5. Enter the IP address of your Roku device and tap CONNECT.

If you need additional guidance on how to connect, please visit our support website on How to sign in to the Roku mobile app.

Hope you'll find this info useful. Let us know in case you still have any questions.

Best regards,
