Radio Shack offers free gun with new Dish Network service

ROTFLMAO at this story out of Montana. Hope the dish works well, don't want these new customers to become disgruntled. Peace --brett

When driving down U.S. Highway 93 through Hamilton, there's no need to do a double-take when you see the sign hanging above the Radio Shack Super Store.

You read it right. Customers who buy Dish Network will be rewarded with a firearm.

At first I thought it said "free gum" and wondered if they were handing out Juicy Fruit.

I'm all for law-abiding citizens bearing arms if they wish, but I'd probably take the $50 pizza gift card.
Is that a good deal though? What would one of those guns cost new?

gun vs. pizza gift card? For Montanans, that's kind of like "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime" hahah. In business, you've GOT to know your demographic ;)

I'm a rural-raised daughter of a dad and brothers who always had gun racks on the den wall and the back of their pick-up trucks, not to mention a pistol-packing mama who always kept her weapon tucked close by as she slept at night on a special pillow designed to protect her beauty shop 'do. It's just I've never personally bought a gun (other than the toy/water variety), thus had no clue what they cost.

Sorry, but anytime I see "free gun with purchase", I have the same idea go through my head. Maybe it's because I didn't grow up with such things, but "we're enticing you to buy something by offering you a lethal weapon" is a pretty disturbing approach.

So you would rather: "Free condom with purchase."

Actually, those are not that different. Both can be used for birth control and disease prevention.

How about "free related product/service with purchase"?

You see lethal weapon while most gun owners see a fun hobby.
