Roku Player beta program - CLOSED

Postby RokuJamesL » Tue Nov 25, 2008 1:34 pm

Greetings Roku users!

Are you interested in improving the Roku Player movie watching experience? For a limited time only, Roku is searching for users who can beta test the next Roku Player software update release, coming in mid December. In order to participate, you must meet the following criteria:

-Own a Roku Player with an active Netflix account
-Have a widescreen HDTV of any kind
-A broadband internet connection rated at 3 Mpbs or higher

If you can fulfill all four of these requirements, please send a private message (PM) to RokuJamesL that includes your name, e-mail address, Roku Player serial number, make and model TV you own, and speed of your broadband connection. Please note that, unfortunately, we have a limited number of slots available for testers, so responding does not guarantee entry into the beta program. Folks who are selected to participate will be contacted by e-mail over the next several days with further information.

Thanks and good luck!

I sure hope my PM doesn't just sit in the outbox for days like it often does. (My apologies for putting a post on this thread but I just don't trust the PMs given my past experience.)

Rich, I did get your PM. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but check your 'Sentbox'. If it's 100% full, try deleting some to empty out that box.

How will I know if my PM was received?
and if I will participate on the program or not.

I'm looking into the issue with PMs.

In the meantime, I did get your PM if you wanted confirmation on that.

At this point everyone who sends a PM to enter the beta will be admitted.

My PM is also in my outbox, my sent box is empty. I am assuming the PM went thru since all of yours did. :)

I'll assume that you'll send an email or PM to let us know how to proceed?

I believe you guys are experiencing a feature of the forum -- delivery confirmation.
If you send out a PM and the other person hasn't seen it yet, it's in your outbox. Once they open it, it's in the sent box.
Maybe someone can tell me if this is not correct.

This is exciting, would be nice to get some use outta this HDTV. Since I mostly watch Netflix streaming and dvds and what HD I get over the air with an indoor antenna, until I can install an outside antenna.

So can't wait.

Now just waiting for $99 Blu-Ray players and i'll update to Blu-Ray rentals and Netflix will be supreme with HD.

Excellent.

Beta

Postby althage » Sat Dec 13, 2008 5:47 pm

Is it to late to be in the beta program? I just sent James a PM, but I'm afraid it's too late! Is it too late or can I still get in?
