The only thing offensive about your post was the crazy ass run-on sentence. What do they teach you kids in school these days?

Well...I thought I was the only one this kind of thing bugged the hell out of. At least he used a few caps.

This device is just a DLNA player and still needs a DLNA server(PC) to operate. It does not even do HDMI either.

The following device is more like the DVP:

Now we are getting closer, but again, I have to have my computer on to stream Netflix. With that said, I like some of the other features.

While this does look to be an interesting product, it ain't no Roku.... Roku can do a LOT more, with more a lot of content coming... with the SDK some things we can't even imagine right now.

Although I will say this... if you are looking to get Hulu on your TV this MAY work for you... from the description anyway. Your PC will be seen by Hulu so it should stream with no problem, and this little wonder does the viewing for you.

As far as watching locally stored content, it would be far easier for me to set up a Samba share (or other method of sharing files locally across the network) on my PC and wait for a Channel to come out that will let me access it. I don't currently have that much local content that I'm dying to stream to my TV at the moment anyway.

It is a good SUPPLEMENT to the Roku, that's true... but if someone asked me which was a better use of $99 I'd say Roku, no contest!

to the OP, if you'd like a better response try saying something like "Here's something else I'd like to see my Roku do" instead of implying that the Roku engineers are neglecting their job duties by not making your box do these things already... and with the SDK coming out, maybe someone with programming skills could do this.

I'm also sure that this box can't do anything without installing software on your computer... I don't know of any other way that it could work as you're controlling the computer and redirecting its output over the network which it wouldn't do by default. I''d also like to know if it would support a WIRED connection, which the Roku does and this box doesn't tell me.
