I have seen on google when searching for horror vod channels that there is a channel called Frightology that is supposed to be on ROKU as of this past september. I just got the roku a week ago but do not see that channel...what happened to it?

I believe this channel was renamed to "Drive-In Classics".

Cheers.

Just set up my new Roku XD - super quick and no problems with Netflix.
See on Roku Store a 'wieder.tv' German language program listed as 'Free'. Tried to sign up at https://wiedertv.synctv.com/link per screen instructions but when I enter the code from Roku screen it wants a user name and password and does not accept Roku user name and password.
When I then tried to go directly to 'wieder.tv' I'm informed that there is a $44 sign-up fee plus $28 monthly for a one-year subscription.
Anyone know how to sign up for the free service? I'd like to try it but not for the prices they want.

That's unfortunate. Our whole family has really enjoyed not sitting in front of the computer to watch Netflix etc by virtue of Roku. But there is great FREE programming from Germany (best example so far is ZDF's Mediathek: http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/hauptnav ... g-verpasst). At ZDF, Germany's central broadcasting website anybody can watch all their programming from the last week, or even older programs if they were added to the playlist.

How about more foreign programming for the ROKU: English language from UK, Ireland, Australia, Singapore, India etc. as well as foreign language?

While Roku works with content developers, it's really up to the content providers themselves to create "official" channels for the Roku, and get them published. Based on the special-interest and specific-language channels already out there, I can only assume that Roku isn't particularly discriminating in terms of what types of legal, non-pornographic subjects are presented. You've got to talk to the specific providers you're interested in if you'd like to see them on the Roku.

Drive-In Classics is a different channel (developed by the same developer). The publisher of the content on Frightology decided to remove that channel from Roku.

There's no channnel for ZDF Mediathek. ZDF (Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen = Second German Television) is one of the two German public-service TV networks which are funded by a television licence. This doesn't allow them to offer a channel for the RSP.

Furthermore many people over here think it's a real shame that the content of ZDF Mediathek and other German public-service TV and radio stations is freely available worldwide whereas major US broadcast networks geo-lock their stations.

If you want a channel for German TV, you could ask Deutsche Welle to develop one. They are Germany's international broadcaster funded by the government.

When do you guys think some new (English Language) channels will come online? I'm still hoping for some new non-music/radio/photo channels with some real video content. There are tons of sites without Roku channels out there. I really can't wait for some new releases.

Who knows. There seems to be plenty of activity in the developer forum.
