Roku slow tonight?

Everything I've tried on the Roku tonight takes an excessively long time to load: YouTube, Hulu+, Netflix -- you name it.

The internet connection on the laptop that I'm using right now is swift. Is there a problem with Roku's website or the site that the channel information is stored? Once a video actually loads it plays fine, but I've been seeing a whole lot of the 'Please Wait' and 'Retrieving Image' screens. Also, the time it takes for the video itself to load is upwards of a minute. This has never happened before.

Firmware updates might be the cause...
The downloading of the new firmware. (not the performance of the firmware)

Try a reboot - the new software version might be causing slowdowns. That said, I'm under the impression that unless you're actually in the channel store, your Roku doesn't talk to the Roku home base often at all - video streams come directly from the providers.

Rebooted to no avail. Everything loads very slowly. The wifi strength is very good, and there isn't really a lot of interference. Once it starts playing, there aren't any hiccups, but something that normally loaded in 10 seconds is taking sixty. It seems to be independent of anything else. I updated to the latest firmware, but it's still slow.
