The internet connection on the laptop that I'm using right now is swift. Is there a problem with Roku's website or the site that the channel information is stored? Once a video actually loads it plays fine, but I've been seeing a whole lot of the 'Please Wait' and 'Retrieving Image' screens. Also, the time it takes for the video itself to load is upwards of a minute. This has never happened before.
Try a reboot - the new software version might be causing slowdowns. That said, I'm under the impression that unless you're actually in the channel store, your Roku doesn't talk to the Roku home base often at all - video streams come directly from the providers.
