how do I connect roku to projector?

Postby susana murphy » Thu Jan 27, 2011 4:30 pm

Hi,

I just got a Roku Box and want to connect to my Sanyo Projector, I only have green, blue, red and yellow, no white.

I use a Panasonic Bluray Disc Player, connected to the Sanyo.

I have a Cisco Linksys and VisionNet modem in another room.

I'm lost, shat do I do?

Thanks,

Susana

What model of Sanyo?? It likely has 2 video input options: 1) 'component' (R/G/B) or 2) 'composite' (Y) - the audio (R/W) must be fed to another device like a receiver. All the Roku models have composite (Y) ports for video; some models also have component (R/G/B) for video.

Whatever you do, don't shat! You can connect the Roku to the Linksys router either wirelessly or with a CAT5 ethernet cable.

By the colors, are you saying the cables or connection on which device?

Sounds to me like you have your inputs mixed up. You should have two reds, one picture and one audio. So in total you should have
green - blue - red (video)
red -white (audio)

If you don't have the audio then you may have digital audio instead or perhaps no audio at all. Projectors typically don't do the audio themselves so you would run the audio to a stereo or other sound device.
