Ultraviolet ~ Playback app needed

Postby MeansSix » Thu Jun 21, 2012 6:56 am

I think Roku needs to put some pressure on Flixster or Amazon to release an Ultraviolet Compatible Application. Both Flixster and Amazon are backing ultraviolet. Ultraviolet is backed also by the DECE which includes:
Adobe Systems
Akamai Technologies
Alcatel Lucent
Arxan Technologies
Best Buy
British Sky Broadcasting
British Telecom
CableLabs
Catch Media
Cineplex Entertainment
Cisco
Comcast Corporation
Cox Communications
CSG Systems' Content Direct
Deluxe Digital
Dolby Laboratories
DTS (sound system)
Empathy Lab
Fanhattan
FilmFlex
Fox Entertainment Group
Fujitsu
Hewlett Packard
Huawei Technologies
IBM
Intel
Irdeto
Kaleidescape
LG Electronics
Liberty Global
Lionsgate
LOVEFiLM
Marvell Semiconductor
Microsoft Corporation
MOD Systems
Motorola Mobility
Nagravision
NBC Universal
NDS Group
Netflix
Neustar
Nokia
PacketVideo
Panasonic
Paramount Pictures
Royal Philips Electronics
QuickPlay Media
RIAA
Red Bee Media
Rovi Corporation
Saffron Digital
Samsung Electronics
SeaChange International
Sonic Solutions
Sony Corporation
Switch Communications
Technicolor
Tesco
Toshiba
Verance
Verimatrix
VeriSign Inc.
Warner Bros. Entertainment
Widevine Technologies
Zoran

My point is whether we like it or not (debate for another thread), ultraviolet is the future, Roku needs to get on board with an ultraviolet application, and needs to start by leaning on two of the companies it already partners with that support ultraviolet.

Please Roku. I have cut off my cable, cancelled my netflix, pre-ordered two simple.TV dvr's, and have made a full committment to you as being the set top leader (dont make me need to also buy a google.tv or boxee box!)

I've asked Flixster about this twice and never gotten a response from them. I'm not sure if it is a technical issue with the Roku, or if they've just not gotten to it yet.
