PBS is included in that list...

got a roku 2 last night... looks like max channels in models without an sd card is around the neighborhood of 963 or so... I had manually loaded about 1000 or so through a review of catastrophie girl's site a few weeks back, and it said 999 when it was trying to download it all last night (which took a very, very long time - about 3 or 4 hours I think (watched shield, and about 2 or three other on regular tv shows as it did that before it was done), lol)... This morning it's showing 963... and there is a little bit of lag in switching channels from time to time, but it's tolerable.

Now it's time to find the bad channels that don't work, dupes, etc. and delete em out.

It'd be nice if there was some way to 'sort' by channel name, etc.

Wow that's gotta be some kind of record

So overall how does the new Roku 2 compare in performance to your older Roku 3? Navigating around the menu and channel grid, loading and closing channels, and running "heavy" channels...?

it works fine. Figured out that 500 or so channels is around the max you can go to before you get too much lag in the system due to flash memory getting too full after some experimenting... (not a big deal since about half of those 1000+ channels I had loaded earlier where religious channels, and I'm not much of a religous nut, but do like watching the stuff sometimes as a form of entertainment - almost like standup comedy in some ways on some of them, lol) It does work with over 900, but if you have 960+ you'll get extremely slow response times on the grid, and you'll also have a heck of a time moving any channels around in the grid since your roku will reboot itself if you move too quickly (like hit the double arrows 3 or 4 times in a row instead of the single arrows, etc.) Chris said that it's because the grid has to load all those blasted graphics in the grid, so it eats memory quickly... (Hoping someday they do a fix/patch to allow just text only chanel grid to fix that little problem.) At 500 or so channels it all runs fairly smoothly (although the double arrow thing can still cause problems if you go too quickly and go 4 or more screens up or down when moving the channels around on grid... )

This is WAY better than the first gen limit of about 20-30 channels or so depending on which channels you loaded in since some channels take up more space than others memory wise.
