Please search for forums for uXM. It's software you can install on your computer that facilitiates streaming XM to the soundbridge.

I loaded Windows Media Encoder and it works fine except you need to have it running as well as Winamp or xstreamxm. I was hoping to be able to stream XM radio from the internet or add it as a preset.

Thanks RokuLyndon

AmazinglySmooth, you mentioned in your post that xstreamxm is a pc-less application but it doesn't appear to me to be the case. Anytime you need to download software to your pc (which is the case with xstreamxm), the application must be running on your pc for it to work. It seems to me the only way to be able to tune in XM radio via the web is to add a URL to a preset.

http://www.xstreamxm.com/mobile/stream. ... =password& chan=113&speed=high

This was posted on this board somewhere, but I am too lazy to google it. Channel 113 isn't working right now, but others are. This is totally awesome in my opinion--XM is the primary audio source for all three of my SoundBridges.

Cheers

This is only if kprintzpa is already an XM subscriber - technically it's not legal receive XM programming in any way unless you're a subscriber.

Also note that xstreamxm.com is NOT affiliated with XM, and as such, you're giving up your username/password to the folks behind the site. I use this service too, and haven't had any trouble, but "fyi".

kprintzpa - are you an XM subscriber?

Is there such a thing to listen to Sirius on the Soundbridge as well?

uSirius will work, but I don't know if there is a "server-free" version.

yeah... that's not gonna work out.

There are a couple of embedded tokens in that URL that are tied to the browser session, which themselves are probably tied to the IP address that started the session. Most notably "sessid" and probably "authToken". If the information in the session can't be reverse authenticated with the tokens, then the stream won't happen.

Where did that URL originally come from?

Hmm... and what's "uvox"? I don't think that's a protocol that the Roku boxes know about. Did you start this from an AOL session?

Hmm... very weird. I guess the short form is that I'm not surprised that it doesn't work, given the stuff in the tokens. The interesting thing to me that it works in Winamp.

None-the-less, I wouldn't expect it to work as a preset on a Roku box.

uVox

uvox (UltraVox) is a proprietary streaming format from AOL. As far as I know only Winamp and the actual AOL application can play it at this time.
