This is not the first time power supply problems have plagued Roku products, you might like to take a look at the Photo Bridge forums, makes interesting reading.
I am afraid it is purely down to the use of cheap underated components, and poor ventalation. In all cases I have heard of regarding failure of these psu's, the culprit has been cheap capacitors that have failed. The cure is to replace them all.....
...much cut...........
.......I am quite prepared to repair my own units when they fail, as I am an electronics technician by trade, and have much experience repairing switchmode psu's. I would rather do that, than package the unit and send it back to the states.
I am in the UK, and am quite prepared to help out repairing these dead power supplies, if you find yourself out of warranty, and facing buying another unit.
