Postby KennyJ » Sun Feb 15, 2009 8:45 am

I noticed a bunch of new Instant Watch titles from TLC, Discovery, and Animal Planet:

Little People Big World
Survivor Man
Myth Busters
Deadliest Catch
Future Weapons
American Chopper
Miami Ink
Shark Week
Meerkat Manor
Extreme Engineering

My kids are going to be SOOOO HAPPY when they get home from their dad's!!! My oldest son just had me the other day check to see if the Deadliest Catch or Survivorman was available on instant watch, I told him I KNEW they weren't....AHHH but they are now! Can you guess what we will be watching all week (kids have Winter break all week too!)

Off topic, but does RokuLyndon=ReplayLyndon? If so, very cool. I was always very happy with the participation on the replay boards back in the day.

Anyone have an opinion of Deadliest Catch? I've seen commercials for it and I think Mike Rowe is great on Dirty Jobs, but never sat down and watched Deadliest Catch.
Yeah, I got some Rokus.

Deadliest Catch is awesome... Mike Rowe does some narration and interviews from time to time but the bulk of the show is out on the water with the boat crews. The camerawork and production are both excellent.
It's definitely worth checking out...

I was excited to see this stuff added as Deadliest Catch and few others are some of my favorite shows. Butttttt....... I was really disappointed to see it was only 4:3 SD material. I was hoping for at least DVD quality stuff. Looks like Netflix got a copy of these guys OnDemand stuff for cable companies.

Although I'll still watch some of it, but I'm not excited as much about it and probably won't show that stuff off every time I show my Roku off.

I hadn't checked it out yet, but that sucks especially since most of those shows are on Discovery HD, would have been a good way for Netflix to expand their HD offerings. I won't be watching any of it if it is 4:3, I already watch most of those shows when they are on anyway, so probably nothing I haven't seen.

Mythbusters was 16:9, though not HD.
