Radio Margaritaville problems

Postby bugman » Fri Aug 14, 2009 6:12 pm

Hi - I've been having problems with the 32k Radio Margaritaville stream working on and off for some time on my M1000. Usually it works, but sometimes drops out for hours or days at a time. I dug in some more tonight, and found that it plays thru the Radio Margaritaville web page (wma) with no problems. Using the Roku Radio Snooper program while it's playing gives the following url and message:

http://www.radiomargaritaville.com/stre ... illehi.asx

Server can't stream http

When I use RadioRoku and tell it to play the 32k stream on either the pc or Soundbridge, neither will work. When I use the 16k stream, it works both on the pc and Soundbridge.

The 16k URL is:

rtsp://radmarg.wm.llnwd.net/radmarg_lo

It also gives the can't stream http error in the Snooper program, but plays fine.

FW is 3.0.44
Can anyone suggest a fix?

Thanks for any suggestions,
Mark

Hi Mark,

welcome to the forums.

From what I can see on their website Radio Margaritaville is not offering a 32k WMA stream at the moment. "Listen Now" always plays the 16k WMA stream.

For higher quality you could try using the Real Player URLs which are MP3 (40k or 24k).

Greetings

PS: Snooper is crap.

Thanks for the help. They must change their link from the 32k to the 16k stream under heavy load. I will try the MP3 streams.

Thanks again,
Mark
