What OS is Roku's Base

Just wondering if Roku's operating system is based on a "nix" OS and if so what flavor? Is the layout engine Gecko based?

It runs on a proprietary flavor of the Linux OS called Roku OS.

the basic OS is Linux (Kernel 2.6.19). The complete list of GPL software used in the box can be found here.
