What OS is Roku's Base

Postby billdeman » Mon Jan 04, 2010 9:27 pm

Just wondering if Roku's operating system is based on a "nix" OS and if so what flavor? Is the layout engine Gecko based?

The guys in the developers forum could probably answer that for you. I myself have no idea.

It runs on a proprietary flavor of the Linux OS called Roku OS.

billdeman,

the basic OS is Linux (Kernel 2.6.19). The complete list of GPL software used in the box can be found here.
