iHeart Radio Channel?

Postby HeadShrinker » Mon May 24, 2010 10:06 am

Just curious but a lot of my favorite radio channels are clear channel stations which aren't all supported by the great Radiotime app. I often use the iHeart Radio app on my iphone and it works on Sonos as well. Any chance of someone being able to get it to work on the ROKU?

Have you checked to see if they are available in the RadioTime channel? I know RadioTime got permission to provide at least some Clear Channel stations via the Roku channel.

I did/have been. I remember you saying in your thread that some clear channels were working but the ones I'm looking at (DC101 and Hot99.5) in Washington D.C. still say "unsupported". I keep them in my presets so I check for them every couple of days.

Gottcha. "Not Supported" usually means they are a WMA stream, which the box has trouble playing.

To the best of my knowledge all stations available on iHeartRadio.com are AAC(plus) streams, as Flash can't deal with WMA. Furthermore if a station plays on the iPhone it most certainly isn't WMA.

Same goes. A format the box can't handle. I should have been more generic in my previous statement.
