MummyBox Suggestions

Postby mjpm » Sun Apr 29, 2012 1:42 pm

According to a mention on their channel, MummyBox is fielding suggestions for feeds to add.

Personally, I would like so see more Canadian and British channels.

If you know of a tv channel website that is streaming their content live via the website it would help facilitate the process. Many of the UK and Canadian TV channels are region locked, although with the new active Roku regions there will be channel updates in the future that will provide connections specifically for users within the particular regions.

Not region-locked, but sadly not in a format usable by Roku at this time. I'll check back to see if that changes in the future.

If you send me a Private Message here with the channels that are problematic I can see if I can make a slight change to help. Some of it is known differences to players, but I can see. No guarantees.

Great addon!

Only problem is that the Eng.language list is almost 100 channels long! How about dividing it into Regions, eg. USA, Europe, Africa, etc, ?

Thank you.

I am currently deciding how to divide that up to cut down the list into sections. One option was to divide into News/Public Access/Entertainment/Religious/etc.

Dividing by genre is an option, but then you end up with channels scattered all over the place.

By region (or country) keeps channels grouped together - for example, UK users are likely to be used to all UK channels being together, same for Germany, etc.

I've seen genre grouping with some xbmc plugins, and you get problems where a news channel gets lost in the entertainment section., etc.

Any chance for nostalgic TV networks, like Me-TV, Retro TV, and Antenna TV?

I am partial to UK channels as well, especially the BBC and ITV channels, but I see that may not be possible. However, come June there will be a new US channel created that will have British programming. Mostly reruns of shows, from Doctor Who to Ballykissangel to Foyle's War,etc... It's a channel that is being launched by a local TV station, so won't be available to most of the country.
If you think that may be a channel you want to add, can send you some information about it come June.
