Days of Our lives anywhere?

Postby amyintx » Wed Feb 20, 2013 6:28 pm

Hi,

I JUST bought Roku. I have had Direct TV forever and am just super tired of it always going out when it rains.
I am trying to find out if there is a way to watch Days of Our lives anywhere?
Thanks so much!

I don't think that you will find any current soaps on Roku channels.

But you can check Crackle or Hulu Plus as they have many TV shows.

Get an antenna for Over-the-Air. That should get you Days of our Lives for free.
Roku2 XS, 42" LCD, Ethernet (5.5 b320)
Roku Stick HDMI, 32" LCD, WiFi (5.5 b2027)
Roku N1000, 25" CRT, Ethernet (3.1)
Router - Linksys WRT54G2
ISP - TWC - 50 Mbps/5 Mbps
Net+ Cert

It will amaze me if someone starts streaming a daily soap on demand. Hundreds of episodes a year; it's daunting.

You can find The Daily Show, The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon, etc., on Hulu Plus, and those air daily. True, they do have reruns on occasion, and soaps don't. But a daily broadcast showing up next day? It happens. Just so far, not with a soap opera.

Oh, and I agree with the suggestion to get an antenna. The only issue would be if the OP is used to recording DOOL and watching it later. Then, we're talking the extra expense of a DVR.

Another alternative is watching DOOL episodes from the NBC website.

There is no Roku solution, though.

Actually, Days of Our Lives is on Hulu free (http://www.hulu.com/days-of-our-lives), but not Hulu Plus (yet?).

All My Children and One Life to Live are supposed to return with half-hour episodes on Hulu Plus this spring.

there is a website called dailymotion and winch you can view days of our lives. They also have a channel on roku. You might want to check that out in order to watch days of our lives on there. However, you do need to look up the person and possibly subscribe if you want to make it easier to find the videos in the future. I believe his name is DOOLFAN28

Again, I am not grasping what you mean by not being able to watch a SOAP. Arent they on some channel you can purchase to play on ROKU? I would really like to know if you can watch TV like when you have a TV subscription for example from TWC? If you are not able to accomplish this, not seeing where ROKU fits in to those who want to ditch cable. Anyway, hope you can answer from inquiry, RD
