Roku not showing channel on home screen.

Postby rrkb321 » Thu Apr 04, 2013 2:41 pm

Hello. I am having a problem with the TWC Roku channel. I went to the channel store on my android phone to install the TWC channel, it says it is installed, but on my Roku I had an insufficient storage error.

So I deleted a couple useless channels and now I cant see the channel. It says it is installed according to my android phone and I cannot see it in the channel store on the Roku. The recent purchases in my account also says I have it.

I tried rebooting, factory reset, tinkering with the secret screen, nothing worked.

Thanks for any help.

did you look in the channel store at the top row of "My Channels" ? when you say it's not showing up in the channel store? you can also try adding it manually from this link and then go into and out of the channel store to force an update

N1000, roku1 XD/s, roku2 xs, roku3
wireless
speed range from ~18-20mbps

PM or tweet me if you want a channel added to my list, a correction or to update a developers' credit

Which Roku player do you have?

If you have a Roku that has a model number not higher than 2100 then you wont be seeing it on your device.

If you have a Roku 3 player, go to Settings > Software update > check for updates, then see if you have it in your "My Channels" lineup.

The fact you are getting the insufficient storage error to begin with means you have a first Generation Roku. Only Roku LT, HD (2500X+), Roku 3 and Roku 2 devices can use the TWC app.
Roku2 XS, 42" LCD, Ethernet (5.5 b320)
Roku Stick HDMI, 32" LCD, WiFi (5.5 b2027)
Roku N1000, 25" CRT, Ethernet (3.1)
Router - Linksys WRT54G2
ISP - TWC - 50 Mbps/5 Mbps
Net+ Cert

Yes, I have the Roku XD and XDS players. It would be nice if it was stated the channel would only work on later models.

You mean like it says in the second paragraph of the Roku announcement of the channel?

You know it might not be a bad idea on the Channel Descriptions on Roku website to include compatibility of Channels, I kind of agree with the OPer if that is what he means.

Agreed. Even if the website tells you the channel has been added to your Roku account, you won't know if it's compatible with your unit until... Yeah. Sucks.

Yes. Plus, if the user is logged in and on the Channels page of the Website, an extra indicator (highlight, something) if a channel is not compatible with one or more Roku boxes tied to the account.
