With all the other movie services already on the Roku, why do we need another?

Because more choice is almost always a good thing. But until we see exactly what is offered and how it is displayed and how we access it does little good to condemn or condone the services.

I am a bit apprehensive about this because of some posts I have seen around the web but, so far, I have seen nothing either positive or negative from a reliable source or even from a mostly OK source. What I have seen is idle speculation or sometimes even guess work with absolutely no substance. So my apprehension is just based on seeing nothing of even questionable nature that makes me think I will enjoy or need this service. But I hope I am wrong and the service will prove to have value for me.

But this speculation, even mine, really means nothing and the answer will come when it comes.

The new Roku 1 and Roku 2 have been listed as in stock at various stores (Roku store, Circuit City, J&R, Tiger Direct, etc) -- and I think Amazon's getting a new batch starting this weekend?

Just a matter of someone buying one of these and posting impressions of the M-GO integration, as well as the UI/channel performance... Anyone?

If the M-GO thing looks good, then we can start pestering Shawn for the R3 update. If not, well, we can pester him anyway...

I vote to start the pestering. :D I have been eagerly checking daily since October 1st. I have been hoping that this type of service would come to Roku and I have an extensive queue at M-Go that I would like to start enjoying through Roku instead of through an HDMI cable that is a bit of a hassle to connect (hassle in the sense that it entails having a cable running down the middle of the room every time I connect so by hassle I mean messy).

Did anyone with a Roku 3 get the M-GO firmware update already (since Roku sometimes releases updates on limited roll-out for testing)?

There must also be people who have already ordered and received one of the new Roku 1/2 models (which are supposed to have the M-GO firmware out of the box). Doesn't any of them visit the forum?

One thing I'd like to find out:

When you open your own M-GO account on their website, you're supposedly limited to 5 registered devices. With the Roku integration, what happens if you have more than 5 boxes on the same Roku account? Does the Roku integration basically have its own rules (since you won't need to, or even be able to, use your own M-GO account -- you would instead use your Roku account and Roku billing).

go to Wal-Mart and buy a new roku 1, 2 or ... I think 2 is 80 or 90 bucks, and 1 is a little less than that.

It is a nice little option, but at the moment I have it turned off even though it's there simply because most of the shows on there are pretty darn pricey. If M-go does not have the show/movie in question they do show you what other places have it, but if they DO have it, they don't show you those options, just their expensive prices... prices seem to vary heavily from item to item. A few bucks for some stuff, 20 or more for other, etc.

If you are big in to renting stuff and paying much more than you would for netflix, or even huluplus and netflix, the price of a new roku shouldn't bother you. Otherwise, if you are on a budget, it's probably not worth your time to look in to.

As far as the option to find stuff goes... cheaper alternatives exist..

The roll out for M-GO on Roku 3 is slower than the Obamacare rollout.

I still don't have M-Go on my Roku 3. My firmware is 5.1. I registered online with M-Go so that part is taken care of, But no joy on M-Go. Any idea why this is taking so long to get M-Go?

MGO works fine on the new roku 2. There is a slight delay when going to my UV library. Streaming in hd is flawless can not tell the difference in this stream or vudu. The update should run find on the 3 the delay could be on the older roku 2 series.

IIRC, your Roku box needs to be running the 5.2 firmware which is currently being released in batches.
