Re: Bug with nested FOR EACH blocks, internal counter gets messed up

The only route I know is for you to post on the "SDK documentation: links to fix, missing/broken/etc" topic (https://forums.roku.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=69731) If you want to provide suggested text that's great, but if you just point out what's missing or not clear it should be their ...

Re: Bug with nested FOR EACH blocks, internal counter gets messed up

... EDIT - I tested using FOR i = 0 TO in both FOR loops, and there is no problem, even with each using the same variable "i", so it's only when using FOR EACH and thus it uses Roku's internal counter system somehow. Correct. Each object that implements ifEnum (the enumeration interface) ...

I'm guessing you are looking for LabelList, not ButtonGroup.

Re: Use roAppInfo data inside render thread

roAppInfo can be used in the render thread. The documentation that says it can only be used in a Task is incorrect (or rather obsolete if you will). That restriction applied only to an early 7.x version of Roku OS.

I'm not sure if this is what you are asking about, but perhaps: https://developer.roku.com/docs/developer-program/discovery/external-control-api.md#roku-tv-ecp-commands https://developer.roku.com/docs/developer-program/discovery/external-control-api.md#queryapps-example etc. and https://developer.ro...

Re: BrightScript feature request: string interpolation

There's no interpolation feature, but there are substitution and replacement APIs, which are about as good IMO. thing = "book" color = "red" print Substitute("My {0} is {1}.", thing, color) ' prints "My book is red." or thing = "book" color = "r...

Re: roDateTime - wrong time stamp in VPN

The  roDateTime  Object is created and if we display the current time its showing old time... e.g.  dateTime = CreateObject("roDateTime") print "time = “dateTime.AsDateString("long-date") The output is :  time =  Thursday November 29, 2018 The above is  wrong date. This hap...

Hi,

What exactly do you mean by wrong? Note that the value should be in UTC.

Is the date/time display in the Roku UI correct?

Re: AssociateArray Keys() Change Order?

I saw from a forum post that .keys() could be appended in a for...each which defaults the associative array to alphabetical order.  What if I want the results returned in the order they appear in the feed? I don't want to add another "order" key, but I can't think of another way from the ...

I cannot seem to find any documentation on how to process deep link parameters while the channel is running as per the new requirement:  When the channel is already running, direct playback commands will  deep link  to content in the channel without requiring a channel launch delay by using  roInpu...

Re: List of icons in the Fixed and Geneva themes?

Does anyone have a list of all the available icons included with the Roku themes? I can't find it anywhere in the sdk docs. Here are some dumped from the loaded textures via the telnet debug server: /Netflix/Artwork/SceneGraph/FixedTheme/Base/FHD/spinner_ArrowLeft.png /Netflix/Artwork/SceneGraph/Fi...

Default ToStr() on intrinsic types (numeric, Boolean, and string) goes back to firmware 7.0.
ToStr and string Format with printf format specifiers goes back to firmware 7.6.

Re: Issue with math: float calculation, ToStr()

Try this: ? 1.1* 9 console prints 9.9 But try this: ? str(1.1 * 9) console prints 9.900001 A couple of options: x=1.1 * 9 ' 1) use Fix to try to force 1 digit of precision.  may or may not work? ? Str(Fix(x * 10)/10) ' 2) use printf-style conversion ? x.ToStr("%3.1f") ' Note that Str pref...
