Re: AC Adapter for dead M1001 reports as okay?

Oh... why didn't I find the link to Soundbridge M500/M1000/M1001/M2000 power issues earlier? flower! After seeing my M1001 dead one day, I... 1. tested the power unit w/o load and as it delivered exactly 5.0V I thought it was okay 2. crashed the black plastic caps at the left & right of the M100...

There's a pretty new fork of firefly: forked-firefly. The code is cleaned up and looks very promising. However, you need a linux distribution with kernel >= 2.6.29 and glibc >= 2.9, that means Lenny is too old, but Ubuntu 9.10 is fine.

control your SoundBridge with curl

Looks like nobody has posted it, yet, so here we go. You can control your SoundBridge with curl (unix command line tool) since the SB has a web interface with a form that provides control buttons. The form uses HTTP POST to send the control action to the SB, so that's what curl can also do: curl -d ...

How do I upgrade to 3.0.52? I'm using 3.0.44 and my soundbridge tells me, that it's already the latest version when I ask for an upgrade.

edit: Oh, I see, it's still beta.

And please don't post threads with the title "DO NOT BUY". I'm also very disappointed of Roku, but the less units they sell, the less money they've got for support and the situation gets even worse.

Ziemlich OT: warum "ixt" ihr Conrad aus? Hab' das schon öfter gesehen, meistens in deutschen Threads und nicht in englischen. Scheinbar gibt's hierzulande eher die Angst, man könnte ...tja, was eigentlich? Ich hab' keine Ahnung. Ich kann doch so oft Conrad schreiben wie ich will, wen...

I would love to see these features: * links in the UI playback screen, i.e. when "clicking" on the artist's name => do a search for the artist by interpret; "clicking" on the album name => list the whole album; maybe you can visualize this by underlining the selected UI component...

remote control often fails at high bandwidth (WAV)

Anyone else experiencing such a behaviour? The remote control of the SB M1001 works fine when playing mp3, but I have to push the buttons several times until something happens when playing an audio format that is being transcoded to wav by firefly media server (ogg, flac). I guess the reason is the ...

802.11g, because 802.11b seems to be too slow for WAV streaming, which is required for unsupported audio formats.

I've managed to update an old tremor patch for oggdec so that it works with vorbis-tools-1.2.0. So at least my problem with playing ogg files from a Linkstation is solved now. If you're interested, here's a link to my posting in the firefly media server forum.

If you have chosen OGG/FLAC to encode your music, you can always use a media server software that allows you to transcode your files to a supported format "on the fly" when they are streamed to the Soundbridge (Firefly, for example). Actually, that's exactly the problem. I've chosen to pu...

Do you consider implementing OGG/FLAC at all?

Hi, it's very unsatisfactory that there's no information at all regarding all the requests here begging for OGG/FLAC support. Do you consider implementing it at all? Or did you find out, that it's technically impossible? Do you think, that people will buy more and more of your devices as long as you...
