The heatsink above the ATI chip is warm, but above U12 it's stone cold. It's going to be on its way back to Texas again next week. Thanks to Chris @ Pyramid for agreeing to cover the rework under the previous repair ticket. Can you point me to the thread (or just re-append) the information on how t...

Return of the Dead Roku

On May 14, 2007 my dead HD1000 was returned in working order form RokuLabs. The power supply was replaced. Between then and last Thursday I only had a chance to try the PhotoBridge a couple of times due to other projects. The two times I powered the unit on, it worked properly. Last Tuesday I went t...

Got a very quick and excellent response from Rokulabs shortly after this posting. Thank you!

Since I can't reply to the email - the date is wrong which is why there is the problem that you noted.

Yes that is a classic sign. is it also cool to the touch on the left hand side where the PSU is? That is another clue. Is it a Rev A or a Rev B? Dead units are going for about $50 on eBay. Thanks Barry. Yes, it is cool to the touch on the left side even when plugged in. Looks like another dead Roku...

Another Dead Roku?

My Roku won't light up when plugged-in. There doesn't seem to be any activity.

Is this the classic sign of a dead PSU? Anything I can try before getting rid of it?

The unit was about 1.5 years old.
