A question for those who have an external power supply

I've noticed that since changing to external plug-pack power supplies that the FM reception on both of my Soundbridge Radios (R1000) has improved. They appear to be more sensitive, produce less sibilance and have less crackle/noise. I use external whip antennas and these have not changed. Has anyone...

Two Soundbnridge Radios R1000 fixed, this time for good

Last week both of mine died - one I'd upgraded the caps and resistors and the other was a warranty replacement. Both within 24h so perhaps it was a mains spike (no other appliances etc dead though). So out came the original power supplies and in went a tag strip with two 4700uF 35v caps and 9 diodes...

Roku R1000 PSU Repairs

I'm an electronics tech based in Wellington New Zealand. Have fixed one of my R1000s (new better rated caps, snubber resistor and cleaned the zener to help cooling) after getting sick of sending them to the states. It wasn't particularly difficult or time consuming. Happy to help anyone here locally...

Moving on From Soundbridge

Anidea,

The weekend alarm issue is a big one for me as well. It has stopped me recommending the R1000 to several friends.

The question naturally is 'what is better' at the moment?

Feature Request Forums - A Waste of Time and Effort?

Hi all - including moderators. It has been a while now since the last development output occurred: Sep 29, 2007 3.0.49 public beta which was great for me with NZ DST and BBC IR fixed. Since then I've not seen any development output. Is it all over with Mike gone? I suppose the threat of forthcoming ...

Thecus N5200 PRO

Hi, I'm using the previous model with Firefly to transcode FLAC on the fly. This system works wonderfully. Given the extra CPU/memory resources of the PRO it too should be excellent.

Cheers

Weekday and Weekend Alarms

I'm being driven crazy by alarms going off in the weekend. The plan to add weekday and weekend choice would be very greatfully received.

Weekend Alarm

Hi Mike, My sympathy on the UI design complication of weekends. However it gets my vote at being very close to the top of the features wanted list (after native FLAC support). As there are many users with need/desire/ability to do something with the weekend thing how about running a no obligation co...

SD Card 4GB (non HC)

Confirm that mine works fine in the soundbridge. Might be worth acquiring some before they are all gone if you are likely to use this feature (ie not networked...).

Native FLAC & OGG Support

Hi, on-the-fly transcoding is not working for me. Because of this native support of OGG & FLAC is a must have. I will not buy another device without this. Will probably sell out of my Soundbridge at the next opportunity.

VisualMR & Mediabolic (N5200)

Hi ukanalyst - scrap the VisualMR idea as it does not work with Mediabolic on my NAS. The Mediabolic server is seen but does not pull up the playlists etc. However Firefly is seen and works fine. Suggest installing a DLNA compliant media player on a PC (eg Cybellink SoftDMA), connecting a late model...

DLNA - It Does Work

I'm running a Thecus N5200 NAS with the Mediabolic DLNA certified server installed. My Soundbridge radio works fine with this incl playlists etc. Love the Firefly server though - it appears even snappier. Have you tried using the VisualMR control application - does this see the DLNA server? Also the...
