Ok, I take your word for that. I am also very clear that I will never ever buy a Roku product anymore, not so much for the product in itself as for the support.

Thanks anyway, alanmc and dupondt.

alanmc, thanks for your response. Would it be possible for you to make a communication log with the wireshark analyzer so we can tell what differs? (Enable logging, restart SB using the config menu, stop logging when the UPnP server has been found). PM me for email address. --- Everywhere reading in...

Hi again and thanks for your responses. I am now pretty sure that this is a bug in the UPnP handling of the SB M1001. Should it be reported elsewhere than here? Burkhardi, I am running my media server on Linux (debian stable). dupondt, I am pretty sure that it is not an issue with the FUPPES server ...

SB having issues with SSDP (UPnP media servers)?

Hello, I have done some testing switching to the FUPPES media server instead of using mt-daapd that I have been using previously. I have noticed that when I restart the SB M1001, I immediately get a connection to my mt-daapd but it takes a *looong* time for the connection to the FUPPES to be establi...

I have previously experienced these issues too, but it is a while ago. I have upgraded software to 3.0.46 and I think I also have changed the wifi channel to avoid interference. After this I have not seen this issue anymore. (At least this is what I can think of. Also I might have changed laptop; ne...

Additionally, how significant would a user rating be? With 7100+ stations from all over the world and many - if not most - of them being regional or even local radios, I doubt that a rating system would be of any use. I agree. It would be nice to be able to set ratings just for personal use. And I ...

I *think* a full scan might be necessary if modifying the id3 tags.

You might need to transcode the audio stream to a format supported by SB, e.g. mp3. You can also try splitting the stream to different ports (audio/video) - it would probably be some work to get it going. (I have not checked if it's possible by VLC, but it probably is.) Also, it might be good to kno...

Do not use the Roku remote control! Access the web page presented by the SB using a browser, e.g. http://192.168.1.12 (of course dependent on the IP assigned to your SB). Select the "quick choices" (?) tab, edit the first preset ("A1") and save using the button at the bottom of t...

Just to let you know. I have experienced problems with the avahi-daemon resulting in problems connecting from SB to mt-daapd. I have seen this issue for a long time. First I tried stopping and starting mt-daapd - still connecting failed. Then I stopped mt-daapd followed by avahi-daemon also and then...

A tip that you might find useful. I have made a script my own previously that have the same functionality as "pressing home button three times", but instead uses the on/off button ("double click"). When this is done a menu will be shown. And one of the options is "shutdown m...

Ok. I've sent you an email. Seems like iTunes and Nero uses unicode for m4a (aac) files, but RealPlayer stupidely uses codepage.

m4a tags encoded with Realplayer gives "Invalid UTF-8&q

Hi, I was trying out ripping a CD to .m4a format using Realplayer 6.0.14.748 but there are issues with the swedish locale characters å, ä and ö. I use mt-daapd svn 1696 running on Debian etch. The å, ä, ö characters are shown as ? characters on the Soundbridge device. When using li...

I tried to listen to BBC4 radio channel (that is using real) via VLC streaming to Soundbridge but it failed. I think it has something to do with ffmpeg not transcoding the cook audio format properly. (VLC/ffmpeg handles decoding of cook but not transcoding it seems.) (I saved a .ram-file from the we...
