Re: Automated Build Process

You should check out Gulpjs http://gulpjs.com/ Honestly, Gulp is pretty amazing, create a watch task on your brs files, and you can use it to auto-zip and deploy to a Roku device. A total time saver. You can also just have it run the makefile to get up and running -- I did this for months and it wor...

Re: Integrating midroll ads into the RAFAdFrameworkSample

Hi ackeba, Have you played with the setAdBreaks method? http://sdkdocs.roku.com/display/sdkdoc/Roku+Advertising+Framework#RokuAdvertisingFramework-setAdBreaks() Seems like it is used as, adIface.setAdBreaks(600, [60, 120, 300]) prior to adIface.getAds(). I have personally not used it, but it seems l...

ifGridScreen Documentation Update

Hey all, Just thought I would note that RokuKC updated the ifGridScreen documentation today. These were added: SetListPosterStyles(styles as Object) as Void SetErrorPoster(sdPosterUrl as String, hdPosterUrl as String) as Void SetCounterVisible(visible as Boolean) as Void SetFocusRingVisible(visible ...

Re: How to disable the roGridScreen column count

Is this method officially supported with the current firmwares? Since it's not documented in the ifGridScreen interface it makes me wonder if there are possibly issues with it? @Roku Can we get confirmation it is fine to use this method? Also, when was it introduced firmware wise? @TheEndless if you...

Re: 2015 Roku 2 and Roku 3 specs

That's why there is 2 different developer kits and why you seldom get an official response here. Good thing I started to learn Java because it's a level playing field on the other platforms currently. Is that really a fair statement? According to the forum logs, I have personally posted 1246 times ...

Re: 2015 Roku 2 and Roku 3 specs

What is new from the developers perspective? I spent this morning researching the subject (FCC, meditation, tarot etc) and my conclusion is that hardware-wise, there is no difference between the boxes. I.e. 2013 Roku 3 (#4200) = 2015 Roku 2 (#4210) = 2015 Roku 3 (#4230) That doesn't mean they will ...

Re: Brief summary of advantages of ditching classic Rokus?

A lot less remote controls and little boxes all over the place Hehe.. remember when all you had was a Roku 3? :p This must be why they refreshed the Roku 2/3 this week. Well... the Devs will have more room on their desks now, so we need them to buy a few more new Roku's. :) Speaking of which, how d...
