Re: Problem with Firefly Linix

Sorry Bregent. I know what the problem is. It would have helped if I read the setup better. With the device I am using, there is an incompatibility with the firefly and the linux version that is installed on the device. I was able to get this to work at one time but Firefly kept going down for know ...

Re: Problem with Firefly Linix

Yes I have. I have used the one you addressed in the link and Fireplay. Neither one was able to stream music to the Soundbridge. I need the media server to do that or am I missing something?

Re: Problem with Firefly Linix

Hi Bregent, Yes I have. I have Twonky running fine. Eventually when the NAS that Twonky is on goes, I want to use a device that I bought called the PogoPlug. It runs linux, Firefly and other software. A little background info. I used to have a Linksys E2000 and I was able to connect to Firefly no pr...

Problem with Firefly Linix

Hi, I have a strange problem. I setup linux firefly on a NAS. My Soundbridge reconizes it via the display. When I select it, I get a message saying that it is connecting but then doesn't connect. I check over the minor modifications I made to the firefly configuration. I can't find anything wrong. D...

Re: Firefly & Twonkyvison - Linux Version

Hi Les, Thanks for your response. I actually reserved the ipaddresses with the Mac address on the E2000 but did not seem to matter. When I unplugged the router, the DHCP addresses changed anyway even though I reserved them. Very odd. The weirdest thing was the disconnections that occurred when I was...

Re: Firefly & Twonkyvison - Linux Version

Hi Les and Bregent, I wanted to giv you an update. Bought a new Linksys Valet Plus yesterday and installed it. I configured the servers and Soundbridges to have static ip addresses. So far so good. It is stable so far. I will post another message in a week to let you know if the problem has been sol...

Re: Firefly & Twonkyvison - Linux Version

Hi Bregent, Thanks for your input. I did some research this morning and it seems that others have had problems with these routers being unreliable. I did go out an purchase a new router and I am configuring everything back. The weirdest thing was when I first got the Linksys E2000 I had to map a mac...

Re: Firefly & Twonkyvison - Linux Version

Hi Les, I know now it is the router. I upgraded the firmware on it last night and everything seemed ok. This morning when I got up, I can't talk to anything on my internal network but I can get onto the internet. I rebooted the router but that didn't help. I used to have another router but that one ...

Re: Firefly & Twonkyvison - Linux Version

Hi Les, Thanks Les. I was just on the phone with the Linksys people. I thought they could give me some ideas. Boy was I wrong. I upgraded the router to the latest firmware since it came out in the beginning of this month. The mapping of he computer MAC address onto the router was because my internet...

Re: Firefly & Twonkyvison - Linux Version

Hi Les, Thanks for your response. For Twonkyvision, I am using a Maxtor Shared Storage Two with openmss installed with coyote. For Firefly, I am using a Pogoplug with an attached usb hard drive. Firefly at times has gone down. I have no idea what version of linux they are running. You just rang a be...

Firefly & Twonkyvison - Linux Version

I use both Twonkyvision and Firefly to play my music on two different NAS drives running linux. I play it most of the day. It doesn't matter what server I am using to play my music, they both go down for no apparnat reason. I get a message on my Roku that it's lost communication with the server. I t...

Soundbridge Controller ver 3 Not There

Hi Frethop,

Your ver 3 of the Soundbridge Controller is not there anymore. Can you please put it somewhere? I loved your previous version 1.1. Thank you.

Hi Ez, I have a Linksys WRT54G ver 6 with two WAP54G's and I am running WPA with no problems. Have you updated the firmware on the router? Linksys is notorious for writing some buggy firmware. The latest one fixes some problems. I don't think WPA2 will work at all. I have tried several times and it ...

Hi Bret, What kind of Router are you running? I am using a WRT54G with two WAP54G's. I am currently running WAP. Linksys has not been all that great supporting better encryption especailly with their own products. I pointed out to them that they had some bugs in their firmware on the WRT54G with the...

It seems that it is a problem with the firmware. On one of my Rokus, I don't get the date and time. I can't get my favorites to come up either since I have the latest Beta firmware. I can get out over the internet because I can play internet radio through my presets.
