Well, after having played with it for a while now, I can definitely concur with S80_UK. The good news - It has HDMI output. It plays just about every format you can think of. So no worries about converting AVI files to mpg2. This includes PAL DVDs which gave me terrible interlacing problems on the H...

My order for a Popcorn Hour just got processed, so hopefully I'll be able to give an update on how it compares to the Roku soon.

The heatsink above the ATI chip is warm, but above U12 it's stone cold.
It's going to be on its way back to Texas again next week. Thanks to Chris @ Pyramid for agreeing to cover the rework under the previous repair ticket.

Any luck with this one? One of mine just died with the same symptoms. No power LED, no ethernet LED, but under the cover the LED on the power supply is lit green.

This Roku has been worked over by Pyramid already (does that work come with a guarantee?)

I updated to HDHR firmware from 0131 and now TVPlay can't change channels on a tuner after the HDHR Windows config utility has been used. I like that TVPlay trys to sense some other device using a tuner, but can we be only warned and then given the option to tune anyway? Yes R111, I see that behavi...

So I finally caved and ordered a HDHR. Many thanks to TheEndless for the wonderful app! It's going to give my Roku(s) a new lease on life. My wife was even tempted enough to sit through live TV in HD rather than watch a show on the replayTV. I did note a few audio dropouts, maybe one every ~10-15 mi...

But you could plug your USB HD into, say a Linksys NSLU2 storage server, which would then connect to the photobridge over the ethernet connection.

I don't remember the details, but I seem to remember it got a little more complicated with the versions of firmware that supports upnp, as the upnpserver grabs the default webserver port address.

What exactly is the fail symptom? Reading between the lines, I'm guessing that Mplay launches pointing at the default directory structure rather than the one on your movie server? Would it help to add in some debug statements so that you can see what's being executed? The only difference I can think...

Unfortunately, the roku already has a web page on port 8080 (anyone know what this is?)

It's the Upnp web server. It showed up when upnp support was added. Did anyone figure out how to change the ROM Pager default webpage, so that we can use it for something more useful than 'hello world'?

Perfect timing! I was lamenting the passing of Replay6 this evening as I watched my Roku 'blue screen' trying to start a video under v2.0.36

Yes, I'd be very interested in an updated version. I don't think my coding skills would be much help for you though :(
