Re: Screen Layout Chart

So, I am still trying to figure this out.  It seems there is a discrepancy with what the channel preview shows you and what actually shows up on the TV.  I have put the Speaker Name in the "shortDescription" field and it doesn't show up on the TV in Hero Layout, but it does inside the play...

Screen Layout Chart

I am looking to add a speaker name that will appear on the page with the video thumbnail, Title and duration.  I am using the "tvSpecials" content type.  Is there any place that shows us what properties appear where on the screen layouts?   I tried to add mine under "credits" and...

Just to repeat, that error is showing if I use RokuChrisT's JSOn file url. And the other examples posted to this thread.

Can you do a screenshot of what it says when you click on "Categories"?  I think you must have something custom there that is not reflected in the JSON file.

Re: Sample Direct Publisher Feed

Do you have a category for "Roku Recommends" either entered in the Manually Add Categories field or in your json/RMSS feed? Seems you do and it doesn't have any tags or videos to go into it, leaving it empty. Possibly that's causing an error. Yes, the feed should work unless you have manu...

All these examples are failing the Categories check in the publisher, which is what my programmer and I are having trouble with.

Thanks in advance for the help!

What do you mean they are failing?  What error message are you receiving?  Please explain further.

Re: JSON Feed and Converting Channels

@hpdean and @matrixebiz Trying both your samples I get the error "The server returned an unsupported content type." Is there a trick to saving JSON code? I'm using Notepad++ and saved as JSON. The file is located on a public Dropbox folder. Confused in L.A. I am not really sure if it is a...

Re: Sample Direct Publisher Feed

I do mine in dreamweaver, so I dont have to choose one of those but I am sure that will work. Also, remember when you upload your file to AWS, switch back to the old console and change your metadata to content-type and then type in "applicatiom.json"

Re: Sample Direct Publisher Feed

@newchannel

Yes, all the categories and video urls, etc., are in one file. Here is my channel with three categories using the TV Specials object. See the categories/playlist at the bottom of the file.

Re: DP backup feed URL option

I have tried just putting another video URL in as a second URL, after my HLS URL, but it only will play my MP4 and when I start my live stream that uses the HLS URL, it doesn't detect it.

Please roku co, please help with this!  We need to have a fallback URL option for live streams.

Re: Video hosting for direct publisher - vimeo?

I use Vimeo's HLS url and that give you the adaptive bitrate streaming without having to enter multiple URLs, just make sure you grab the url that is for an external player:

Re: Sample Direct Publisher Feed

I was able to do a live feed and just use the same code as the other videos in my channel.  I just separated by categories, and called one category live: {"providerName":"Hope Point Church","language":"en-US","lastUpdated":"2017-02-07T18:12:32.1...
