I loved my SB until it died one day, and I had concerns about the lack of ongoing development, so I moved to the Squeezebox, and haven't regretted it for a moment. The SB was good but for whatever reasons it appears to have had its day.

I think I finally solved my problem. At some point M/S had created a new workgroup - all my network places belong to another workgroup. I deleted the spurious workgroup and everything's back to normal.

I don't know how Firefly accesses the iTunes library, but it might be worth noting that in iTunes 7.6 the XML file is called iTunes Library.xml in previous versions it was called iTune Music Library.xml

It might be that Firefly is trying to access a file that doesn't exist.

Is it possible to assign a single SB to two accounts. I've just introduced my wife to RadioRoku and she would like to sign in to her account and play through the SB, which is already assigned to my account.

If it puts your mind at rest I'm using iTunes 7.4.3.1 with the Roku beta that fixed the comma problem, and everything is working fine with my m1000 (which probably means it'll burst into flames the moment I post this).

And if Soundbridge suddenly stops working after a Windows automatic update, the chances are that Bonjour has been uninstalled - happened to me at least 4 times in the past few months (but as Microsoft also started to block its own ActiveSync software as well, you have to laugh - then install Linux).

I'll answer my own question, it looks as though it is part of the comma problem with the latest version of iTunes
