Well I prefer that my TV do all the upscaling for all my sources. But to play 4K content on the Roku 4, I have to set it to a 4K Display, and when I do that, it decides it wants to upscale all my non-4K content to 4K. I was hoping it would do no upscaling, and just send the source signal to the TV ...

Is there a way to tell the Roku 4 to support 4K when applicable, but to not upscale lesser resolution content to 4K? I don't think so. Switching video modes is messy, takes couple of seconds - don't know if it does HDMI re-negotiation. A more interesting question is, why is Roku4's upscaling medioc...

There is a bug with the 4K setting involving black levels. When i switch to 4K from 1080p, the icons for the apps look different & the screen looks washed out. That wasn't the case before the update. Hopefully Roku fixes this soon because I have to leave it on 1080p just so it looks normal.

Might want to consider upgrading your modem to something like a 6183 which is a 16 downstream modem which will give you more consistent speeds during peak times than your 6141 which is a 8 downstream. Just something to think about.

The PQ on the Starz Play app is awful!!!! I tried streaming The Girlfriend Experience & the pic was just terribly washed out & cloudy. It doesn't look like that with HBOGO or Showtime Anytime. I don't think this app streams in HD like those 2 apps.

Hello, I'm trying to set up the display setting on my Roku 4 with the 4k UHD 10-Bit option but when I select it the screen goes blank and comes back to the original setting which is 4k UHD setting. My TV is a Samsung TV (JU7100) which is capable of this and has a setting in the options for HDMI UHD...

Yes I did. I also toggled the UHD color on the tv on & off resulting in restarts of the tv.

Thanks to all - it is now working on my JS8500. Needed to enable 10-bit color on the HDMI input (on the mini one-connect) that the 4 was connected to - then enable 10-bit color on the Roku. No special HDMI cable used here.

I got it to work as well. I had disconnect it from my receiver and connect it to the one connect mini. Kind of odd since my receiver supposedly supports YCbCr 4:2:2 as well as YCbCr 4:2:0.

Mine is going straight to the connect mini & still can't get it to work. Even tried a different HDMI port.
