How do you get the timezone abbreviation from a ifDateTime?

I'm looking to get the EST, EDT, PST type abbreviation based off an ifDateTime.

This is pretty common in most languages, but I didn't see it in the docs. Is there an implementation or library that I've overlooked?

MWE, please?

That might be pretty tough to make considering the structure. I could maybe try, but in the meantime, any thoughts on why this might be a thing?

Re: Hilarious Roku bug of the day: .delete(xyz)

Also tried a variety of these mixtures: listObject.delete(index); ' listObject = listObject   FAIL ' print listObject.peek()   FAIL ' print listObject.count()   FAIL ' print listObject[0]       WORKS ' print listObject           WORKS ' print listObject.resetIndex() WORKS Shaking my head in disbelie...

Hilarious Roku bug of the day: .delete(xyz)

I found that using listObject.delete(index) wasn't working 100% as expected. If I tried to access objects in there later, the list didn't shift.. or something. Not sure what exactly happens behind the scenes, but it wasn't working correctly. I would delete index #1 at some point.. then add another.....

Anyone found a good way to do automatic testing?

I've built some nice tools for packaging, signing, building, etc.. but I haven't really come up with a good way to do automated testing. Has anyone come up with a good way of doing automated testing to ensure all the things you wrote previously are still functional?

Re: Accessing characters in Latin Extended Additional? They're boxes right now.

How do you "map the characters properly"?  If I'm using Helvetica which is capable of displaying them:  Ḁ ḁ Ḉ Ḍ ḓ ḗ Ḡ Ḳ   Then shouldn't that work? I've tested that it works in browsers and stuff with various fonts, but using those same fonts won't show the characters Roku. I r...

[solved] Re: Are the closed captions broken in firmware 8.0?

Nevermind. Turns out one of my language files had some invisible characters in it that was probably from saving it wrong.. it messed with the captions so it wouldn't work.
Weird bug.

Everything works as expected.

Is that working for you right now? Because that's exactly what I have and had.

Are the closed captions broken in firmware 8.0?

The Roku 8.0 release notes say:  - Closed Captions are now displayed with a more consistent on-screen appearance across streaming channels. - Fixed a bug in which closed captions would occasionally not appear in some streaming channels after an advertisement was played. Ever since the release of 8.0...

How do I roll back firmware on my Roku device?

I'm fairly certain this firmware update broke things... *sigh* again. These updates keep introducing more and more bugs. Anyway, I'm trying to test something that has been working in the past, is setup according to examples downloaded from Roku.com, and is no longer working. It's possible something ...

Accessing characters in Latin Extended Additional? They're boxes right now.

How do you get Latin Extended Additional characters to show up? Even with the system font, they're just showing boxes. For example: "Ḁ ḁ Ḉ Ḍ ḓ ḗ Ḡ Ḳ"  While all those characters work on the web with fonts like Helvetica, Arial, Gotham, etc... they do not work in Roku firmware 8.0. Is there...

RowList itemFocused and rowItemFocused[0]

I thought itemFocused was supposed to be the equivalent of m.grid.node.rowItemFocused[0]. There's a case in my code where these two numbers are different on the same object.

Aren't they supposed to be the same... or ?

Doesn't it feel dirty to do that?
