Re: Stick+ Not responding

I have had this Stick+ powered by the USB port on my TV since I got it, which was when it was first released.  It always worked fine. Today after the problems I spelled out above still continued I got out the power adapter and used that, the problems went away.   I could understand if the USB port o...

Stick+ Not responding

I have the Roku Stick+, had it since it first debuted.  Never an issue.   For the past 3 days all of a sudden there is a huge lag when pressing a button on the remote.  Sometimes it will move the cursor immediately for 2-3 presses, but then it will freeze for 10 seconds to a minute.  Also, it takes ...

Re: New Roku Stick

Ok, cool.  Thanks.

I ask because I would like another one but would hate to get last year's model if there was a new one available.

Re: New Roku Stick

I’m not sure about the model numbers. I’m just wondering if the basic stick available today is the same as the one last year.

In previous years on Amazon it would say 2016, 2017 etc.

New Roku Stick

There appears to be some new models. Is the basic Roku stick any different than last year’s? In previous years they have released a new model that looked exactly the same but I assume had faster technology inside.

Re: Cable logins transfer?

Re: Cable logins transfer?

Some channels I have to reactivate often.  I hate it. I also hate that Roku would be great for people like my parents who pay for HBO thru cable and could watch a lot of shows on HBOGO for example, but would be very frustrated to get into bed to watch a show and have to reactivate the channel.  I co...

Re: A question about movie aspect ratio

It's not that I stare at the black bars, it just seems odd to use a product inefficiently.  There is a screen real estate that can be used, but it isn't.   I understood in the past why it was like that, but I was curious why a movie that Netflix made for their own service, which is overwhelmingly us...

A question about movie aspect ratio

This isn’t about the Roku specifically. I am watching the movie “How It Ends” which is a Netflix original film.  The vast majority of Netflix viewing in on 16:9 displays.  These movies aren’t shown in theaters. So why did Netflix film it in widescreen which puts a black bar above and below it?  What...

Re: HBO NOW ISSUES

Is the LT too old for the current version of HBO Now?

I remember having to upgrade one of my Roku's when HBO Go came out.

Did you try uninstalling the channel, rebooting, updating the Roku software, and reinstalling the HBO Now channel?

Re: Feature Requests - First Quarter 2018

Right now I do not have cable television, I stream 95% of my content thru my Roku's which are all connected to the network wirelessly.  There is that 5% of content (mostly news and an odd sitcom re-run) that I watch using the antenna up in my attic, and that requires coax cable to run to each of my ...

Re: Feature Requests - First Quarter 2018

Yes the box would be more expensive but I suspect that there are those who would be willing to pay more to get those specs. Roku might be able to compete with the Nvidia Shield in the high end market. And they could keep their cheaper products for those who are satisfied with them. Everybody wins. ...

Re: Roku Commercial Crash Loop

This happens due to the channel, not the Roku. Not true.  Most, if not all, ad rendering relies on the Roku Ad Framework .  The code is written and maintained by Roku and hidden from developers. -JT Sorry to burst your bubble, but only Discovery owned channels use this way of showing ads and only D...
