Re: Willow.tv on Roku

I did communicate with Willow TV support by email and listed the problems that I was experiencing with their Roku channel (Re-buffering, Failed stream starts etc...). They extended my subscription for a month and asked me to report back on picture quality etc ... At this point I was pretty much done...

Re: Willow TV on Roku - what's the status?

I just wanted to post an update because noticeable improvements have been made to the Roku Willow TV stream’s quality and reliability. This evening, while watching the live Ashes feed I noted: ⋅ There has been no re-buffering. ⋅ The picture is now displayed the correct 4:3 aspect...

Re: Willow TV on Roku - what's the status?

I watched the 1st Adelaide game replay at 5am on Friday morning, over a 90 minute period the Roku stream buffered twice. Great! The Friday evening live game was a different matter - re-buffering was occurring faster than Cook was scoring runs ... Each re-buffer took up to 1 minute to complete, with ...

Re: Willow TV question

Status report: The re-buffering problem has been less pronounced this evening, with an occurrence of around once every 3 to 5 minutes. Typically, after buffering has completed, 20 seconds of previously viewed video is repeated before it catches up. This is an improvement from yesterday when it was r...

Re: Willow TV question

And so what if people subscribe to only the series they like? If I had a good experience with this Ashes series on Willow.TV (which I have not, due to the re-buffering issues and particularly because of the cancellation policy) I would no doubt have been happy to sign up for subsequent England seri...

Re: Willow TV question

Willow Support have not yet responded to my email, but I am glad that they posted an update the forum (I assume that they were swamped with enquiries last night). Regarding monthly subscriptions, the Willow terms and conditions state: The Willow Monthly Subscription package is a package with recurri...

Everyone, in addition to letting roku know, please email WillowTV CS and let them know. Hopefully this can sorted out.

Naren,

My thoughts exactly. I sent an email to Willow TV support about 30 minutes ago. It is too bad that the channel does not appear to be ready for primetime.

Re: Willow TV question

Well, I don't have re-buffering problem anymore. I can't get the channel to launch. It launches, the progress bar appears and then I'm kicked back to prior screen. WillowTV CS has not responded so far. :-( I saw this symptom as well. I resolved it by exiting to the Roku home menu and then re-select...

Re: Willow TV question

The buffering issue is making Willow TV on the Roku unwatchable. I agree, I too signed up for the $14.99 monthly plan to watch the Ashes this evening, but am sorry to say that I have just abandoned the Roku Willow TV channel, for the same reason. The Roku Willow TV channel re-buffers every couple o...

Thank you

this is not a Soundbridge issue. Virgin Radio's streams not always contain (valid) metadata, it seems that they randomly switch that feature on and off. Thank you dupondt. It actually came to my attention when I connected to the 128k feed, but actually received a low bit rate stream (which I think ...

Virgin Radio mp3 stream - Missing track information

Roku guys, Just a heads-up, I thought you might be interested in this observation: I have recently noticed that the track listings are no longer displayed on the Soundbridge when listening to Virgin Radio mp3 low bitrate streams, such as: http://network.virginradio.co.uk/core/audio/mp3/live.pls?serv...

Re: Purple line on right side with HDMI cable

Out of all the movies, except one, that I have watched there is a purple line on the right side of the screen when using HDMI cable. When I switch to component cables, the purple line goes away, but the quality isn't as good. Before I go out and buy a new HDMI cable, I'd like to know if anyone else...

Has anyone looked into the possibility that 2.4 GHz cordless phones, in proximity to the router or Roku box, may be causing this problem? Interesting, that thought had not occurred to me. If memory serves me correctly, a 2.4Ghz phone will only transmit when ringing, or when off hook. In any case, i...
