Simulcast

Hi I am trying to implement live streaming and given the following response for requesting a DRM stream:     " response " : {         " stream " : null ,         " drm " : {             " playready " : {                 " licenseAcquisitionUrl " : &q...

Also struggling with the same issue. Widevine DASH playback won't work, did you find a solution?

Hi
Just wondering if you were able to get it working? If so, what was the solution?

Colon meaning

Hi

I've come across some code as follows...

m.timer.control = "stop" : show()

Can anyone explain the meaning? is it just a conditional, so if m.timer.control is equal to stop, then evoke the function show()?

Thanks

Continuous Task or New task for registry operations

Hi

I was wondering (regarding the registry operations), if it was better (quicker and more efficient) to create a single task which is running continuously for the read/write operations or create a new task each time?

Re: Registry and Task Nodes

Nope. Anything that takes more than a few milliseconds, you shouldn't be doing it on the render thread (can do in main thread of task thread). I read that prior to firmware 8.0 roRegistry and roRegistrySection components could only be used in a task thread. However since firmware 8.0, this is no lo...

Registry and Task Nodes

Hi I read that prior to firmware 8.0 roRegistry and roRegistrySection components could only be used in a task thread. However since firmware 8.0, this is no longer the case. Is it therefore OK to read/write to the registry without using a task or i s it still considered bad practice to do this outsi...

Re: Closed Caption/Subtitle support

Thanks for the response.

Is there any ETA for the fix (roughly)?

Closed Caption/Subtitle support

Hi I've implemented the closed caption support using WEBVTT format as the source for the subtitles. These display however, the positioning of the captions are inconsistent where some words appear on single lines and the text is right aligned. I appreciate that the Roku parser doesn't recogn...

RAF setTrackingCallback

Hi I want to be able to track any errors that arise when using the callback function setTrackingCallback(). I assume any error results in the following object: {errType: String,  errCode: String,  errMsg : String,  time : Int | Float (playback position, in s),  url : String (rendered asset URI),  ad...

At the moment, there's no way to specify color information in a WebVTT file.

Re: subtitle vtt issues

As of 8.1, the only HTML tags that are handled by the WebVTT parser are <b>, <i>, and <u>. The HTML entities for amp, lt, and gt are all parsed and should result in the correct character showing up in the subtitle output, but there may be a bug here. Thanks for this. I am certainly not seeing the  ...

subtitle vtt issues

Hi  I've implemented the closed caption support using WEBVTT format as the source for the subtitles. The subtitles display fine, including the positioning, however neither the colour or any html entities ( &lt;) within the text are displayed. A snippet of the vtt file is as follows: WEBVTT N...

Video screen plus episode lists

Hi

In all the scene graph video examples I have seen the video is played full screen. Is it possible to create a panel with the video and a RowList containing the episodes so that the episodes can be selected and changed?

Something like...
