Once repaired by these excellent chaps, does the PSU last longer than the Sounbridge original? I imagine that would be very hard for the guys to 'guarantee' but they do use superior components to the originals so it would be reasonable to expect this. I was faced with the same decision, should I re...

UK Power supply repair recommendation - Cheers for g0pkh!

Just a quick note to add myself to the list of people who can recommend Pete ('g0pkh') for his PSU repair services. I sent my radios off a very short time ago (three of them!) and he provided a very swift turnaround. All radios were returned in full working order and he was most polite and courteous...

I have heard that the slimserver requires quite some processing power. Twonky on my Terastation works really well and can stream media to two TVs (via PS3s) simultaneously and a radio without any issue. I am not certain that slimserver will stream to my PS3s so would end up having to try and run bot...

I think one of my issues with the Logitech products, as has been said before, is that they do not stream from DLNA/UPnP servers. All of my home streaming is done using Twonky and my understanding is that the Boom etc will not operate happily with it. The Roku radio, power supply depending, just work...

I have to say that I, too, wondered whether a badly shielded, overheating or dying power supply was the cause of the problem. I wonder if anyone has had any experience of a PSU repair solving the problem.

One of my radios (that has now failed with the usual power supply issue) suffers from the rebuffering issue. I think that it is temperature related as turning the radio off and allowing it to cool generally solved the problem. Proximity to the router really made little difference, as did different r...

It sounds like you are in the UK. If so, is it a Pinnacle branded radio or an imported Roku? If it is Pinnacle, they offer a different RMA system and you may have more luck.

I am not sure if you have had a reply, but from viewing other threads on this issue, I think you should consider sending the radio back and asking for a refund. I have been a real believer in these devices for about two years but I am afraid my faith has been seriously shaken. I have four in total. ...

Hmm, the two radios that I have (purchased just over a year ago) do not exhibit this kind of problem, so I would suggest it is something either environmental (which I think unlikely, but you could test by taking the device around to a friend's house) or simply a fault with your unit. If having teste...

The sound quality of my streamed files is, I think, excellent. I have no problems at all with this aspect of the device (I actually have two...). My issue is purely with FM radio broadcasts and it is work-aroundable as I mentioned above. I liken the sound to the B*ze W*ve radio (sorry, don't want to...

I am not sure to be honest. What I do feel is that it could be overcome in software (ie a firmware change). It would be nice to have a comment from Roku support regarding this. Clearly it is something that affects more than one radio... I guess it affects them all to some degree and it is such a sha...

Useful information, however it is strange that, for me, pressing the same preset button seems to re-tune such that the hiss disappears. Perhaps AFC would help (which I guess could be implemented in software), but I still wonder why the first attempt for the radio to tune is hissy and second or subse...

Hiss

I have found pretty much the same behaviour that you have found. When first tuning to a preset, there is slight 'off-tune' hiss and pressing the button a second, or sometimes third, time the hiss stops and the radio sounds great.

Radio hiss

Hi. I have found that the two radio's (R1000) that I have exhibit slight hiss on radio stations. The hiss is apparent when the radio first turns on, or first tuned. I have found that pressing the preset that I have assigned to the station once, or twice, the radio appears to re-tune and then I have ...
