MCE .dvr-ms files

Thanks for the continued improvements on MPlay. Any chance of adding support for Windows Media Center .dvr-ms files?

Re: dvr-ms support?

dvr-ms is a mpeg2 format with extra MS meta-data added. It can be stripped leaving a standard mpeg2 file using tools like dvrms-toolbox. Have you tried stripping the meta-data to see if they play back? And have you tried playing the videos with the built-in video player? TheEndless Stripping - usin...

Re: dvr-ms support?

I finally telnet'ed in and tried to play a dvr-ms file and got the following output: About to open /tmp/Volumes/familypc-recordedtv/Brief Encounter_TCM_17_01_2006_19_00_03.dvr-ms Opened MPEG decoder path, base, ext /tmp/Volumes/familypc-recordedtv, Brief Encounter_TCM_17_01_2006_19_00, dvr-ms Mode:...

Re: dvr-ms support?

I can browse my Windows Media Center PC using Windows Media Connect with MPlay 3.5. Any chance you could add support for the dvr-ms files recorded by Media Center? As far as I'm aware, as long as the dvr-ms files aren't protected, they should play fine on the Roku. What support are you looking for ...

Re: SlimRoku will not play tracks

Found it. I had changed the http port from 9000 to 8080 on the slimserver. Is there a slimroku cmd line option to specify the port? BTW, there was no error displayed. Glad you figured it out! There's not currently any way to specify the port (primarily because noone has needed to, yet), but I'll se...

Re: SlimRoku will not play tracks

I have just started using slimserver and slimroku. I have slimserver 6.2.1 running and it works fine with softsqueeze 2.2 on windows xp. I have PB FW 2.0.36 and slimroku 0.9e. slimroku finds the slimserver ok and I can browse my music files. But, when I play a track, it never starts playing. Any id...

Thanks, marcelo3d and soiaf, for taking a look at this. This would be another great feature for the pb to support this file format. I understand it may be a while before we see it.

Re: dvr-ms support?

Or is this harder than I realize? Can you play the files in VLC player? If so, you can stream them out to "standard" TS files... Converting to TS with VLC: -------------------------- (by TheEndless) Select File | Open File... Let VLC do its thing... VLC would not play the dvr-ms files. However, I d...

dvr-ms support?

Try DVR-Edit or DVR-Ripper. http://www.thegreenbutton.com/downloads.aspx I don't have MCE, so I don't know how well they work. M.- dvr-edit does not actually do dvr-ms to mpg conversion :? dvr-ripper requires a $60 directshow mpeg filter (xmuxer). Is there any chance that mplay (or roku cascade) co...

Hi, When you lose your shares, telnet into your roku and do a "df -h" -- what does it say? Are you on wireless? What is your network setup? Re: mp3player limits?

I am working on a basic web interface using ecp and mp3player. Are there any limits on how many files can be queued for playback? Will mp3player "play" any other file types, like playlists? There isn't a practical limit on the number of files that may be queued. At the moment mp3player only does mp...

mp3player limits?

I am working on a basic web interface using ecp and mp3player. Are there any limits on how many files can be queued for playback? Will mp3player "play" any other file types, like playlists?

And, of course, the obligatory feature request: an ecp command to query status of playback.
