Re: Too many Roku Ultra Problems

Yep... absolute bull... I checked three sites for "best streaming devices-2017" They all included others such as Apple TV, Chromecast, Invidia Shield Sites include Tom's Hardware, PC Magazine and C-Net. Actually PC Magazine shows Roku in place 9 and 10.... so NOT EVEN CLOSE I will say, I h...

Re: Cannot get surround sound

What applications are you trying to get surround sound on?
Some apps show older programs that are in stereo and HULU doesn't do surround sound at all.

Re: Netflix resolution bitrate info gone missing on 8.0 update

It has everything to do with the update.
Whenever I pressed either the * or the menu button on my Logitech remote, the bitrate
would show up under the audio/video menu.
With the 8.0 update, that is gone and now only the audio/video menu is visible.

Re: Intermittent RED flash on part of screen image

Thanks for the update Shawn.
I have anxiously been waiting for the OS8 update for my Ultra (4640X)
I have been re-watching last season of "Stranger Things" on Netflix and they were frequent.

Great news.

Re: New Roku Hardware Announced. 4K/HDR Stick - Roku OS8

After almost a FULL YEAR of nothing but problem after problem with my ROKU Ultra, I don't plan on buying any more ROKU products until they get their act together...
Audio issues... red flashing areas on 4K Netflix... Popping and cracking sounds for months....  No thank you.

Amazon is offering a package deal.
You buy the new Fire TV 4K and add an Echo DOT for only $10 more. The Echo dot is normally $49.99 by itself.

Re: New Amazon Fire TV w/4K HDR plus Atmos w/Alexa Voice Support

It also appears that you need to spend another $14.99 for an adapter if you want to connect via Ethernet instead of wireless...... BUT... it supports 4K/HDR @ 60 Fps with Dolby Atmos AND HDR-10 See below directly from Amazon page: Audio support = Dolby Atmos, 7.1 surround sound, 2ch stereo, and HDMI...

Re: New Amazon Fire TV w/4K HDR plus Atmos w/Alexa Voice Support

So, I assume you can plug this into the same HDMI port on your AVR that you now have your ROKU 4, Roku Premier + or Roku Ultra plugged into, correct??
It doesn't have to be plugged directly into the TV HDMI port?

Re: Roku Offering Its Own Ad-Supported TV/Movie Channel

I got it on my ROKU Ultra yesterday.

No surround sound, only stereo.
No 4K ... most of the movies I looked at were not HD

It looks VERY similar to the HULU commercialized version... I wonder if HULU is running this for ROKU?
The selection of movies and shows looks like HULU to me

Re: Intermittent RED flash on part of screen image

Check the firmware version on your new ultra. I didn't start getting the red flashes in Netflix until the 7.7.0 4117 update... but they are still there after the 7.7.0 4135 update.

Do you mean Fire TV using the outdated HDMI 1.4 that only supports 4K @ 30Fps and no HDR??

The Roku Ultra and Roku Premier+ are the only 2 that support 4K/HDR
the selection shows up in "Display Type" settings.

Re: Roku Ultra is a piece of garbage - I am done with Roku

The current Amazon Fire only does 4K at 30fps (any good 4K streamer will play at 60fps) and does not support HDR. I found out this is because they used the old HDMI 1.4 standard instead of HDMI 2.0. The other option is to use the apps built into your TV... I bought a new Sony 4K/HDR TV and have been...

Re: Question about the Roku Ultra

Hello Cheatgnome I have a ROKU Ultra (see my sig for complete equipment list) Yes, the Ultra model does support 4K/HDR at 60 fps. I know for a fact that it plays back 4K and 4K/HDR movies on both Amazon and Netflix at 60 fps and 3840X2160 Have not tried on any other channels. Be aware though, the Ul...
