so this Is just a skinned XS? from the specs it looks like it. just wasn't 100% sure. but since it has xS in the name I guess it is. If the streaming buffer is starved (lack of bandwidth) you'll see the video freeze because it ran out of video data and stay frozen until until it gets more data. 2.8 has been released to NETGEAR branded players (in addition to all Roku direct sold players.)

To answer some questions posted in this thread: 1) The box checks for updates during the boot sequence. If found, it will download the update immediately in the background, then wait. I posted some suggestions in the PM. I'll do what I can to try to help you resolve this. There is a possibility that the flash memory has gone bad and the unit needs an RMA. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
