Re: Streaming from a 4TB Drive

Just finished a chat with ROKU rep. The answer is no! 2TB max to stream from the USB port. This evidently applies to all models.

Streaming from a 4TB Drive

I have an older 2XS that will stream from a portable 2TB drive but not my 4TB drive.

Does the USB port on the new ROKU 2 stream from large capacity hard drives such as a 4TB drive?

Re: Showtime Anytime? Wow - bad experience

I just recently subscribed to Showtime and ShowtimeAnytime. I also have an Apple TV and watching a Showtime TV series on that device has been flawless. On the ROKU, I agree, streaming, buffering, delay issues make watching impossible.

Re: CBS to Offer Stand-Alone Web Subscription Service

HBO and now CBS. This is great news! Perhaps the cable and SAT TV providers will get the message and start offering subscriptions for individual channels and not "packages." BUT... probably not. :x

Re: Metropolitan Opera

Thanks for the info. I'll look into your suggestions.
From what I can gather the beauty of the Met app on the iPad is that you can stream past performances, audio and video, going back many years in addition to the new upcoming season.

Re: Metropolitan Opera

It has been several years since the Metropolitan Opera has been mentioned in a post. The Met Opera has an app for iPad and I understand a channel on Apple TV. I wrote an email to them on adding a channel for the ROKU and the response I received was that that they had no plans to do so but would for...

Re: 2 XS Users: Has 5.5 FW Update fixed the reboot problem?

The new update seems to make little difference. Now rebooting about once a night within a couple of hours watching. I am thinking of buying the new ROKU 1 ($49.99). Have their been any problems with that device?

Re: A Supreme Court win for Aereo would take the fight out o

When primetime and special events prove to be unsatisfactory (buffering, dropped connections), people will move on. Perhaps, but as an Aereo subscriber for 3 months now, it has been great - no problems - excellent picture. If the SC rules against Aereo, as most seem to think will happen, I will be ...

Re: Roku 2XS reboot issue-Continued

I am sure ROKU is just as frustrated as the 2XS users. I went about a week without a reboot. Then I got one yesterday while watching Netflix. I seem to get them only occasionally and not near as often as some that have been reporting here.

Re: Roku 2XS reboot issue-Continued

I have not had a reboot in the past week or so. Nothing about my setup or usage was changed. Watch Netflix, MLB, Aereo and Amazon streaming, FOX news. Wireless connection.

Re: Roku 2XS reboot issue-Continued

I've been following this, and the previous, thread for a while. I have two XS boxes and they both experience this problem but on an infrequent and random basis. I have has it happen on Netflix, MLB, Aereo and Amazon streaming channels. After working fine for several years I find it difficult to beli...

Re: aereo Supreme Court

Where are you in southern New Hampshire? I get about 40 stations in Danville. I really do not like the ondemand format of their programming. Last I checked you had to start each show -- no continuous programming. A lot of times, Aereo would kick me out before a program ended or would not start unti...

Re: aereo Supreme Court

"Aereo will not be widely adopted because it’s not inexpensive and it’s not very good. You have to have a good network connection. You need to buy hardware for each television. You end up paying $8 per month for each set. There is no continuous programming. DVR space is too limited." I ten...

Re: Cable Cord Cutting Experiences/Advice

I have just signed up for the free month of Aereo. Living in southern New Hampshire I can receive the local Boston broadcast channels. My signal strength is between 5 and 9 mbs. So far I have been satisfied with the reception. Any others using this service with their ROKU?
