Re: Need Clarification on Roku Billing Services

⋅ Can I still use any billing service if my channel is private? As long as the channel is private you can pretty much do whatever you want I think. But the channel will never appear in the Roku Channel Store of course. ⋅ Since users will have the ability to "rent" vide...

Re: Right-to-left (RTL) Languages Support

We gave up on RTL support as well (for now at least).  We had contact with Roku about this and currently those language are not supported and won't be supported in the near future.  As savasdenli said, it's not just about the spaces.  Other problems you run into is having a keyboard that supports th...

Re: Out of Memory issues

Same is happening occasionally to us since a couple of weeks. A system restart is enough, no need for a complete factory reset,

Re: Video node progressive download indicator

Hi gomad,

We haven't done this before, but I do know that there are read-only fields like "streamingSegment" and "streamingSegment" on the video node. Maybe that helps?

Re: How to get the latest RAF in the build??

This is the correct way. Must be something wrong with the number in the docs.

Re: Korean/Chinese SRT files not rendering on Roku

Hi gomad, We have ran this issue by Roku before and currently the subtitles (and also inputfields) do not support any other font then the system font. Which is really unfortunate.  I don't know how Youtube does it, could be that they created there own subtitle manager or worked closely with Roku to ...

Re: 9-patch button backgrounds

You could also create your own button or extension on the button. We created a new button that has a lot more options like: adding an icon, setting alignment and padding for the icon/text, handle colours for (un)focused state, handle fonts and also support 9.patch images for the background or focus ...

Re: How to refresh a row in a rowlist?

Hi, I don't really understand the question. You say you are already updating the content field of the Rowlist with the new data, I don't think there is any other way of 'refreshing' the Rowlist content. But this shouldn't reload the whole screen. Would you be able to give some code samples of what y...

Re: Do not understand deep linking requirement

Hi georgejecook, You are correct: the deep linking is a requirement and therefor needs to be implemented, regardless of search integration. How you can do this is by the following:  Your media items probably come from some backend, where each media item has an unique id. This id should passed inside...

Re: Right-to-left (RTL) Languages Support

Ah I see, thanks anyway!
We made contact with Roku about this problem, they are looking into the problem with the engineering team.
Let's hope they can give us something to work with.

Re: Right-to-left (RTL) Languages Support

Hi savasdenli,

Do you have any luck on solving this?
We are currently developing an application that has to support Arabic languages and we are facing the same problem now.
What do you do in the StringReverse function, as I take it it's something you created yourself?

(Smooth) PlayReady implementation

Hi all, For a customer we have to implement PlayReady DRM on their Smooth streams, but for some reason I cannot get it to work. The customer themselves have it working through web, Android and iOS using the following url:  https://green.playready.entitlement.theplatform.eu/playready/rightsmanager.as...

Re: Registry not cleared after removing channel

Hi Tyler,

That would explain it. We are using the same developer ID for signing all our internal test channels.
I should have read the docs better I guess...

Thanks!

Registry not cleared after removing channel

Hello, We are stumbling upon an issue where the registry doesn't appear to be removed/cleared when a channel is removed. We are saving some data to the registry like autologin and first-time launch. According to the docs this should be deleted after the (private) channel is removed from a device.  E...

Re: Decoding Base64 string fails

I was already afraid this had something to do with the extended ASCII characters not being supported.
This string is from the manifests that we receive for the streams and contains a token that we have to use.
I will contact our client about this, thank you!
