I also have a pinnacle unit purchased from Broadbandbuyer.co.uk. It's only 4 months old and still working. When (not if) it fails I'm going to send it to g0pkh on this board instead of getting a new one from Pinnacle.. the reasoning being that I would rather have a permanent fix than have to go thro...

I agree with alanmc. I own a Lacie 1TB big disk - it worked OK for music but had problems with large high resolution video files. It simply lacks the muscle in terms of memory and cpu. Read/Write is also slow. If all you want is music it may be enough for you. For me it's now just a backup disk. Als...

@ a.roling Are you not able to access the Twonky admin web page? http://yourNasIp:9000 When I had my Lacie it was not enabled by default - I had to ask Support for it. Perhaps if you contact the vendor they can do something similar. Otherwise your best bet is to search the twonky Forum. Unfortunatel...

@ a.roling In that case I can just about guarantee that the problem is not with your Roku but with your NAS. Over UPNP your Roku has no idea what it is communicating with NAS or PC wise. Did you check what version of Twonky the NAS is running? Are you able to access the admin web page i mentioned ab...

I also have a QNAP - TS109 II Pro works a treat with Roku M1001, R1000. They have faster CPU and more memory than NAS's in the same class. I used to use a Lacie Ethernet Big Disk but it was utter rubbish - was ok for music streaming but not for hi res movies. Twonky is great if you want to be able t...

Re: storcenter ix2

thanks for the reply......, but i already have installed the latest 52beta... :( What version is your Twonky on the NAS? Have you looked at the admin pages - http//yourNas:9000 ? Can you see anything in the client list? If you see your device but it's incorrectly identified you can change it in the...

You might be better off buying an iPod touch and installing RokuRemote or PlugPlayer. There are also applications for others such as Sonos and Logitech (slim devices) for iPod touch/iPhone.

That's worrying.. I have noticed users on the main beta thread reporting this too.

Let's hope Roku fix it.

@ tsparc I don't know how long ago you asked broadbandbuyer.co.uk this question, but when asked their "buyer" confirmed: (a) they have no stock, and (b) can no longer obtain this product - view http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/ShopDetail.asp?ProductID=2620 So keep hold of your Purchas...

Just an FYI for UK people- I posted this question to support@broadbandbuyer.co.uk where I bought my Pinnacle R1000: "I have a question regarding when the item was added to your inventory. I ask because older SoundBridge Radio units are known to suffer power supply failure. Has the above unit be...

Try 3.0.52 beta. I was running twonky 4.4.4 off a NAS a while ago and had a similar problem until I updated my M1001. It was the twonky upgrade that broke it, maybe it will fix your problem. Have upgraded Twonky 2x since 4.4.6 and 4.4.9 and still working with M1001 & R1000. 3.0.52 also has a fix...

Does anyone know if the "Warranty Void" sticker applies to the pinnacle branded version? I got a Pinnacle version in December 08 in the UK, but suspect it could have been in the re-sellers inventory for quite a while. After reading all the threads on dead R1000's I'm just wondering when i...

First of all I'm sorry to hear about your loss Chris. This is just and FYI - I have been using this with Twonky Media Server 4.4.6 and 4.4.9 without problems. I have a M1001 and R1000 on 3.0.52. In my case Twonky is embedded on my NAS (QNAP TS109 Pro II 1TB). But you can also download and install on...

I have a QNAP TS109 Pro II 1TB Samsung F1 running Twonky 4.4.9. It works with my Roku M1001 (living room) and Pinnacle R1000 (bedroom) - both on 3.0.52 - no problem. Previous version of Twonky have also worked 4.4.4, 4.4.6. Very happy with the NAS. Previously ran Twonky on a Lacie Ethernet Big Disk ...
