Same, my ultra upgraded to 4142 and it's gone to sh*t Was working fine and now constant audio and video dropouts. I am so sick and tired of upgrades breaking the product. Mad beyond words right now as there is no way to f'ng downgrade. Try changing the HDR subsampling to 4:2:2 if you are using 4K, i...
There hasn't been an update pushed out beyond the one that caused this problem so making a new thread to stay with the current software version makes no sense.
I've had it with this garbage. I'm changing platforms.
DTS is unaffected by this issue. There is a DD5.1 core in every DD+ stream. The DD+ to DD5.1 transcode extracts that core and sends that out the hdmi and optical connector instead of the full DD+ stream. We loose the extra channels that DD+ is able to play. So, just keep on side-stepping our reques...
A bug report for this was filed awhile back and it is being investigated. This was complicated by the other 4640 bug in 8.1 where it stopped transcoding from DD+ to DD. Fortunately the fix for that was found and already released. These dropouts have been harder to reproduce in our lab since it see...
I believe this is a known issue. I don't have an ETA on a fix, however.
....and this is why you need to give us the ability to roll back an update. Now we all have to deal with this problem until ROKU can fix it, with no ETA.
Exact same issue with my 4K Ultra and my Onkyo TX-NR757 receiver. I reported it to Roku support via email and they had me jump through all the hoops. Only forcing the ROKU to stereo stops the audio from dropping / cutting out, but this is not a fix, its a workaround. The problem occurs in both th...
Guys, I don't know what changed in Build 8.1.0 released at the end of June but something you did broke Surround Sound audio playback. I've had my Ultra for a year and its been flawless until last week. Now, anything I playback that has surround audio (5.1) has constant audio drop outs basically ma...
http://forums.roku.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=38665 Discussions of rooting a Roku unit, or otherwise hacking a unit , is forbidden, and will result in an immediate ban. Shawn, now that you have made a FORMAL appearance in this thread, I would greatly appreciate an OFFICIAL response from ROKU on t...
I am not interested in such a solution, and this is an official ROKU forum and I don't think they would appreciate you commenting on hacking their hardware on their forum.
Well then I will be more specific, disabling HDR as I explained above resolved the issue for me however as I said this is not a solution because now I have no HDR.
HDR is the culprit here. I temporarily changed the display type from "4K HDR UHD" to "4K UHD" and all the problems went away, the HDCP unauthorized and the Netflix app screen blanking/glitching. Since I have made this change, I have not experienced any issues. This is not a so...
