FFMS disappeared from the Soundbridge Radio. As a test, I downloaded the trial of TwonkyVision and it works perfectly. Looks like I am going that route.

Likely windows media connect would work as well, if that's an option for you.

I'm using svn-1498. Would it be better to try svn-1586? Couldn't hurt. I can't think of specific issues in playlists fixed by 1586 over 1498, but 1586 is stable. The most likely thing I could think of would be how long it would take to retrieve the playlist info. When the soundbridge asks for playl...

Hello Had the same problem. Latest FW for the DIR-655, 1.11EU (Europe) don't work with Firefly! (Wired work, but not wireless) I went back to 1.03. Regards Michael And that's the only recommendation I'd have. Sadly. Don't forget to file a bug report with the router mfgr, else they'll continue to pr...

Re: Does Firefly advertising to different subnets or over WA

Don't know much about network protocols etc. Does firefly advertise my firefly music server over my ADSL router to the outside world? Or does it automatically limit itself to my local 192.x.x.x home network only? If not, how do I limit it? No, it shouldn't. Your router should block those. Some rout...

OK, I tested the manual rescan and it only takes about 5 seconds. However, it never rescans automatically. Any ideas? Oh. Yeah. (duh.. I wasn't thinking). The defaults are set such that "always_scan" is set to 0. That means that it will only do the scans when a client is connected. Ideall...

Sometimes I experience the same problem my soundbridge can't see the firefly server. What usually works is double clicking the firefly icon then choose server tab then stop and restart the server then my soundbridge can usually find it again. I have to do this too. Why is it, and can it be fixed? M...

Re: Question on svn-1463 Firefly server for HP Mediavault MV

I am thinking of installing the above package available from the HP Mediavault forum in the above NAS. However, I would like to know if this package which is about one year old supports the search function on the M1000? The built-in HP media server does not support the M1000 search function. For me...

Re: FIREFLY + VISTA LIBRARY PROBLEMS

I tried changing my windows username to 'Sean' to solve this problem, however the name of the user folder (C:/users/Seán/music) did not change, so I copied the entire music folder to another folder called 'C:/users/Sean/music'. That's definitely the issue. It can be fixed in a couple different w...

Hmm, could be the router. Dont seem to have multicast option on it :-( You can verify that by running the soundbridge on a wired port, just for purposes of testing. My guess is that you'll find it runs fine. What's the model of the router? I know for some d-links and xyxel (is that spelled right?) ...

Re: ADVICE NEEDED

I have been using a Soundbridge Homemusic for the past year with no problems. I intend to purchase another unit for a different room with the intention of accessing the same music database. I have a couple of concerns/queries and would much appreciate any advice. 1. Is the firefly server software i...

Re: SB M1001:can't see libraries, but connects to internet

I have installed the SoundBridge 3.0.49 beta software, and built firefly from source (mt-daapd-0.2.4.1). 0.2.4.1 doesn't have the rsp protocol, which is necessary to talk to the home server. You'd probably have better luck with the nightly version at http://nightlies.fireflymediaserver.org -- Ron

Re: DB keeps getting corrupted

I'm running the most recent stable version of Firefly on an XP SP2 machine. I moved up to this version because I recently switched AV software. The DB kept getting corrupted causing the service to fail, and I had read that sometimes AV and Firefly don't play nicely and the most recent stable versio...
