Re: Feature Requests - Third Quarter 2017

Hi,   I searched for Hangouts and video calling and didn't find anything so hopefully this is not a duplication.     The feature request is to add Video Calling capabilities.  Create a capability on the Roku receiver to enable a USB webcam plus microphone as an input, and create an app which can ini...

I use a wet54g with no problems

Hi,
I haven't used a USB adapter, but I have used a WET54g with success. This also supports power over ethernet which I haven't tried out but which might make the installation neater.

Farewell

Not JustMike. Thanks for all of your great help. My 2-cents here is that you've always answered more than the question that was asked, making every RokuMike response a useful contribution over and above the question you were asked. If you're moving on to another company in a similar role then I'd co...

Any Irish PB owners who want to give or sell their PBs?

Hi, My PB power supply just died and I'm going to fix it. I thought about simply replacing the PB with something else, but its still a good device and I've invested time learning to use it and customise it. Are there any PB owners in Ireland who are finished with their PBs? I'd like to have a couple...

thttpd will work on the Phtotbridge

Hi all, Just to see if I could I compiled and launced thttpd http://www.acme.com/software/thttpd/ and it seems to work well. Its very quick and doesn;t use up too much memory or CPU. I had to tweak the Makefile.in a bit because I didn't know how to add a new group group (thttpd needs a group called ...

I have 2 subnets to minimise traffic on the wireless lan. Routing between them keeps it to a minimum. As it turns out there isn't a pptp package that I can find that will work on the PB. The PB does appear to have the ppp modules in the cascade development libraries, but they aren't compiled into th...

Hope springs eternal. Maybe this might work - have to try it this weekend. If I set up a VPN server on my XP box and I can get a PPTP client to work on my ROKU, then maybe I can set up a VPN to my XP box, it'll look like the PB and the PC are on the same subnet, and voila, it'll work. Maybe!! Links ...

UPNP through a router

Hi, MY PB is attached to a router which routes to another network which has my PC on it. Different network addresses - 192.168.1 and 192.168.3 - same subnet mask. Roku can see the PC and the Internet and I can telnet, ping etc.. between the ROKU and the PC no problem. I'm tried both tversity & w...

Good question. Clicking on a video when its playing causes a macromedia popup to appear. I'm assuming that some form of transcoding would be necessary.

Light at the end of the tunnel?

Hi, If anyone's still interested in this. I have found a possible reason. From this URL : http://www.faqs.org/docs/samba/ch05.html Aside from little things such as these, the mounted smbfs filesystem can be used in conjunction with virtually any application, and you might be pleasantly surprised at ...

Viewing google video (video.google.com) clips on the PB.

Hi,
Anyone have any thoughts about how to view & browse clips from video.google.com directly from the web using a PB? I've tried using tversity but can't get anything to play.

I came upon this article. It describes how to start accessing a sub-system like the Xilleon. As the Xilleon 225 in the HD is a sytem-on-a-chip device, maybe this will help to get access to its features.
