Goodbye and thanks for all the help

Now that my HD1000 appears to no longer work, I'm afraid I'm jumping ship. I just got a Netgear EVA8000, and it took all of 5 minutes to set up. It does everything I need - Music, Photos, VNC, Radio etc. I'm having a little trouble with video, but I play very little of that. I would like to thank ev...

Jim, Thanks for the thoughts. I had switched cables and the ethernet light is on. I also tried a software re-install. The system does boot to the desktop setup. I've been waiting for a good reason to ditch the HD1000, and this might be it. The Netgear EVA8000 looks interesting, and it should be out ...

No ip address

Suddenly my HD1000 can't find an ip address. It was playing music, hung, and when I rebooted no ip address! I've tried the factory reset, and reboot but to no avail. I'd just upgraded to the latest Zone Alarm, but I don't think this is a factor as it doesn't pick up an address with ZA turned off. No...

Thanks. I'd not come across these before, and they look interesting. Do you know if the 2100 series would work, as it's a much cheaper option?

SDesk questions

I'm new to SDesk. After installing it today, I started it up and it began to "build menus". After a while it stopped with a warning. Essentially it couldn't find MPlay or Sonica, (which are installed), was looking for a swap file (I have a Rev B, which I thought doesn't need one), and coul...

SlimRoku with NAS drives

I'm looking for a NAS drive that can utilize SlimServer/SlimRoku etc. Does anyone have experience with the LaCie drives, or can anybody recommend anyhting else? Price is a problem, so Infrant is not really an option!

Does Sonata need to be run? I copied the FLAC codecs into the Slimserver bin, ticked the file conversions in SlimServer, and everything appeared to run in properly according to the SlimServer notices.

Jon,

FLAC didn't work for me. Maybe the difference between a PC and a Mac?
The system is now working pretty well, though, with just a few minor squawks. I must have just hit a bad transmission period.

Jon,

OK have got it running (sort of) by making the various stations into a playlist, but they only run a few seconds before they terminate.

Thanks for that. I've installed AlienBBC and it shows up and works fine on the Slimserver, but I can't get it to show up on Slim Roku. Do I have to do something to make this happen?

Problems with artwork in Slimroku 1.6beta

I'm using the latest beta with Slimserver 6.51, and I'm having problems displaying "Now Playing" album art. While the Album art page displays correctly, the Now Playing doesn't. It shows the "art not available" for most albums. However, it does display correctly when the screen s...

Album Artwork Not Displaying

I'm using the latest beta with Slimserver 6.51, and I'm having problems displaying album art. The Album art page displays correctly. The Now Playing doesn't. It generally shows the art not available for most albums. However, it does display correctly when the screen saver kicks in. Any ideas, anyone...
