I had the same problem, and made the rounds of both this forum and the Apple one to no avail.

It doesn't appear solveable.

So I've switched to an XBox 360 with Rivet, and my HD1000s are now a thing of the past (actually I still have them but am not using them).

Here's the response I got on the Apple forums. Is it even possible to do this on a Roku? If so, what file do I edit? Grrrr, Apple!!! It's 10.5.4 that did this. Freaking Apple did something with the SMB security settings and now we're hosed...A windows computer connects fine though so something must not be quite standard in Roku's implementation of SMB... Its got nice potential from a development perspective, but no use unfortunately for HD playback. Its video output is basically composite - no digital audio output either.
