Re: Has Vimeo Pro ever billed you for excessive bandwidth?

Sorry for the delay - we just got this sorted with Vimeo.   First of all, they have been absolute peaches to work with.  They are great, and not unreasonable at all.  Our use was VERY high - we're running feature films, and have a library of approximately 2000 films, and running 5 channels.  The co...

Re: URL signing for AWS S3 and CloudFront hosted content

Why do you need CloudFront?  S3 works fine for me with thousands of subscribers from all over the world.

Re: SALES ACTIVITY link on the Developer dashboard

My guess is that they broke or deleted the old one by mistake.  One thing I just noticed is that they are now obsfucating the Event Date column in the CVS spreadsheet file.  Where it used to show the date you made a sale, the date is now replaced with a code you can't convert to a date by eye.  This...

Re: SALES ACTIVITY link on the Developer dashboard

My point is that the summary report worked well and gave us to the minute earnings for the month and a final amount that would be deposited the following month...  the time spent on importing and merging this raw CVS data into a spreadsheet may ultimately give the developer more proof of the transac...

Re: SALES ACTIVITY link on the Developer dashboard

This is ridiculous, guys.  Why would you remove the summary report that showed our earnings for the day and month for each channel?  It was working!  Why would you remove this report and leave us in the dark?  The transaction reporting feature is a nightmare and doesn't come close to being the same ...

Re: Help on Implementing New Deep Linking Requirements

It's not easy but basically a nickname for the movie and a type are passed into the channel app as two strings.  Instead of giving your movies long serial numbers just call them by their name in all caps with no spaces like this: contentID = "SOMEOLDMOVIE1934" mediaType = "movie"...

Re: Roku Audience Network Reporting

Roku's #1 revenue is from ad sales.  With all these complaints about not being paid correctly for ads being shown on so many developer's channels, I can only come to one conclusion, but I'll just bite my tongue and not outright say it.

Re: Enabling Your Channel for Video Ads

I've been trying for over a year to get ads to show on one of my channels and I've done everything by the book.  All I get is the in-house ads from Roku which makes me look like a rookie.  If the channel is side-loaded from home I get random ads, but never after publishing.  I've contacted Roku many...

Support for multiple-item MKV

Think about it, an MKV with a pre-roll and post commercial or other sub videos.  Is this a limitation of MKV or with Roku?  Are there any plans to at least look into such a feature?

Re: Roku deep linking feed XML file format

Your mediaID can be any kind of legal text or string of numerical digits.. it doesn't have to reveal the actual movie name and year like my IDs do.

Re: Roku deep linking feed XML file format

The format mentioned in the SDK docs says to submit a list like this: contentID = "SOMEMOVIE1943" mediaType = "movie" contentID = "ANOTHERMOVIE1961" mediaType = "movie" ....and so on... I pasted my list into my channel's support info page and resubmitted the n...

Re: Looking for 3rd party ad providers

When I first published my channel after a week Roku started showing lots of random ads.  I was very impressed with what I thought was coming for me, but sadly I never saw a penny.  When I decided to convert to the SDK model they killed the ads completely and I have been unsuccessful in getting them ...

Wrong destruk, when you upload a package, you go into a test queue.  It just doesn't sit there waiting on you to contact them afterwards.

Didn't you sign a nondisclosure agreement in order to test 8.0 before it's release to the public?  They have another forum for reporting bugs and talking about issues.

Re: Anyone know how to implement GetPurchases

It sounds like a Roku issue since the payment is managed prior to channel installation and it's not dealing with in-channel services.  I'm pretty sure that GetPurchases only returns the in-channel services/products.
