Re: Length of time in "just added"

Most of it is public domain or content nobody has even thought about challenging, but the topic is how long can you stay in the 120-entry Just Added section, and the answer is Very shortly, maybe a week or two of potentially being noticed, otherwise you're doomed to the search grid which only shows ...

Changing Monetization to Pay-To-Install

Has anyone gone from free to Pay-To-Install and what was your experience with Roku and your customers? Roku doesn't seem to be available for questions when we need them the most.  Let's say you have a channel that was just launched and has gain 900+ subscribers in a few days but you realized that Ro...

Possible bug with In-Channel Product Identifier

Would someone at Roku please try to reproduce this bug? Create two In-Channel Products: id = ABCDEFGHIJKL999 name = Product One id = ABCDEFGHIJKL599 name = Product Two In your channel's billing code purchase the product ABCDEFGHIJKL599. On the Roku device's pin pad just prior to finalizing the purch...

Re: Length of time in "just added"

Sometimes 10-20 channels are added per day and unfortunately much of this is because some of the developers are trying to hog the grid with lame and dead channels that feature 5 to 10 vintage movies each of some washed up actor who's been dead for 50 years. One such rude developer is "TV Time M...

Re: Transaction Reporting Freeze

Has anyone tested to see if a subscription goes through and gets charged to your card?  I think if a channel isn't set with a test user or for test billing it might actually charge which would tell us at least that the payment system isn't broken.

Re: Transaction Reporting Freeze

I was just about to report this until I noticed this thread.  No activity on Sep 6,7,8,9 for my busiest channels.  Very unusual, indeed.  I wish Roku would also put the Sales Activity page back that showed a summary of our earnings so we don't have to import the CVS data into a spreadsheet daily whi...

Re: Creating secure connection to AWS S3 via a side loaded .zip file

Amazon is pestering me about how my buckets are public, but they really aren't published anywhere so the bucket names and files should still be "private" until they are published somewhere, which they aren't. I don't understand why this topic is never answered by anyone, not even Amazon.  ...

Re: URL signing for AWS S3 and CloudFront hosted content

At this time it's public read access to bucket names nobody knows about, so it's sort of private, but I'm trying to figure out how to pass keys in the HTTP requests which should work on a private bucket.

Re: Has Vimeo Pro ever billed you for excessive bandwidth?

Sorry for the delay - we just got this sorted with Vimeo.   First of all, they have been absolute peaches to work with.  They are great, and not unreasonable at all.  Our use was VERY high - we're running feature films, and have a library of approximately 2000 films, and running 5 channels.  The co...

Why do you need CloudFront?  S3 works fine for me with thousands of subscribers from all over the world.

Re: SALES ACTIVITY link on the Developer dashboard

My guess is that they broke or deleted the old one by mistake.  One thing I just noticed is that they are now obsfucating the Event Date column in the CVS spreadsheet file.  Where it used to show the date you made a sale, the date is now replaced with a code you can't convert to a date by eye.  This...

Re: SALES ACTIVITY link on the Developer dashboard

My point is that the summary report worked well and gave us to the minute earnings for the month and a final amount that would be deposited the following month...  the time spent on importing and merging this raw CVS data into a spreadsheet may ultimately give the developer more proof of the transac...

Re: SALES ACTIVITY link on the Developer dashboard

This is ridiculous, guys.  Why would you remove the summary report that showed our earnings for the day and month for each channel?  It was working!  Why would you remove this report and leave us in the dark?  The transaction reporting feature is a nightmare and doesn't come close to being the same ...

Re: Help on Implementing New Deep Linking Requirements

It's not easy but basically a nickname for the movie and a type are passed into the channel app as two strings.  Instead of giving your movies long serial numbers just call them by their name in all caps with no spaces like this: contentID = "SOMEOLDMOVIE1934" mediaType = "movie"...
