Re: 1080i

1080i is gonna look assy since it's Interlaced. Fast motion will look so jerky. Stick with 720P and upgrade your TV when you feel.... Don't bother with 1080i though. Yuck. If you want 1080p.... Welp consider a newer TV then. Otherwise go ahead and enjoy 720P since you don't want to upgrade the TV. ;)

Re: Spotify Roku Channel (playlists) Officially Dead

Came here looking for support on this topic after getting nothing from Spotify for over a year, but of course Roku can't do anything at all to help get this working, right? I can't believe Spotify really has no interest in all at fixing this. They must have hit some kind of roadblock. The most popu...

Re: Where is Advanced Video Settings?

Either Roku hasn't rolled it out yet or your TV can't handle native 24hz?

Also the Roku app has additional advanced video settings but I don't think that setting is there....

Re: 24P with OS8

It didn't seem to fix the audio sync issues I'm experiencing. It's still sending out 24.000Hz, which I believe to be the culprit. It should be 23.976Hz. My living room TV (Vizio) only says 24 under system info.... It doesn't get anymore detailed than that. Could be an issue they need to work on it ...

Re: Roku TCL TV's: Which models have "soap opera effect" by default or always?

Does the Roku TVs also have the auto refresh rate under advanced system settings? Will that help? What about enabling game mode? Yes a setting should be available. Have you looked in the advanced settings in the Roku app? My Vizio TV advertisers 120hz effective refresh rate but no way to enable or d...

Re: Why doesn't the Roku Stick support an Ethernet Adapter?

Good points. I forgot Amazon's Fire TV line also had usb Ethernet power adapters as well.

They also sell Wifi Access Point Powerline Adapters which have 2.4ghz & 5ghz for places like you mentioned with really thick walls.

Re: Feature Requests - Fourth Quarter 2017

Add mpeg2 (H.262) decoder to Roku box platform. It's already on RokuTV, is it really that hard? Not hard. Cost money for licensing. It's mandatory on a TV since the TV broadcast is MPEG2. I do which they's allow us to purchase a codec license for MPEG2 video and HD audio bitstreaming. The last US m...

Re: Why doesn't the Roku Stick support an Ethernet Adapter?

Roku currently offer two models, the express, and Stick+ neither of them appear to have ethernet Roku offers 5 models, not 2.   The Express, Express+, the Stick, Stick+, and the Ultra.  The Ultra has ethernet. As others have mentioned, wireless works excellent.  I don't even have multiple access po...

Re: Why doesn't the Roku Stick support an Ethernet Adapter?

Crushing my dream man. :P Sorry buddy. But here is my contention:  Roku is giving you MORE choice than the competition.  So I don't think it's fair to act like Roku is restricting you by not putting one option on some of their models since they put it on the others where it makes more sense to be. ...

Re: Feature Requests - Fourth Quarter 2017

Right, right.

It's pretty rad with Google Home & Chromecast you can say "Turn on TV" & off.... Play & Pause. It's neat.

Just would be nice to say like "play X on Channel Y" for Roku....

Re: Feature Requests - Fourth Quarter 2017

Smart Speaker support.

I picked up a Google Home Mini and would love to say "pause TV". I think it would be "ask Roku to pause."

More than just pausing of course.... Integrating Roku Mic search and such.

Adding support for all the Smart Speakers would be great. :)

Re: Why doesn't the Roku Stick support an Ethernet Adapter?

Now I still want an option to wire my media devices though. If Chromecast can offer an usb Ethernet Power Adapter then so can Roku. They do give you the option of an ethernet port, on the STB models. The 2 Stick models don't have it available, no reason for it.   Unlike the Chromecast and Fire, Rok...

Re: Why doesn't the Roku Stick support an Ethernet Adapter?

I have worked in the industry for about 25 years and have degrees in CS and EET.  My LAN has two APs running DD-WRT on non-overlapping frequencies. My three TVs were 1080p.  There are four users in the house and two of them are teenagers.  This is my experience.  We had a Chromecast stick and we ha...
