Re: Netflix new annoying auto preview when browsing will make me cancel for good.

Ugh. I'm unsubbing from this thread. This has gone on long enough.... Getting a bit tired of hearing people complain. Yeah it's annoying but Netflix still has some good content. Same with Hulu. Sure annoying UI but it still has content worth watching.  Look either deal with it, unsubscribe or create...

Re: Roku is developing a new voice assistant and will license its OS to smart speaker makers

Ugh. Roku should link in with the other voice assistants.  I just wanna use my Google Home with Roku. :P Sure Alexa users want the same.... Any real Cortana or Siri Home device users yet? All I can say is whatever. I don't need some annoying A.I. to suggest to me what to watch and such. Or do I? LOL...

Phew, for a second I thought I was losing it. I briefly skimmed up this thread (without checking the date first) and was like I don't remember replying to this thread?

7 years ago. Whoa....

Allowing free play would be rad since Chromecast allows that function.

Re: Roku TCL TV's: Which models have "soap opera effect" by default or always?

Some TVs use a pulsating backlight to reduce Motion blur which is why it looks a bit off and can add latency which is why Game Mode disables it. Why the TV is usually called something like 120hz effective refresh rate.... Since the panel is not really an 120hz panel.... (However I've read people at ...

Re: Roku TCL TV's: Which models have "soap opera effect" by default or always?

Okay so the general purpose of Game Mode is to disable anything that may add latency. Which includes stuff like that. Different TVs handle Game Mode differently.... Meaning some still look good picture quality wise and others may look worse due to some image enhancement being disabled.... Just test ...

Re: 1080i

1080i is gonna look assy since it's Interlaced. Fast motion will look so jerky. Stick with 720P and upgrade your TV when you feel.... Don't bother with 1080i though. Yuck. If you want 1080p.... Welp consider a newer TV then. Otherwise go ahead and enjoy 720P since you don't want to upgrade the TV. ;)

Re: Spotify Roku Channel (playlists) Officially Dead

Came here looking for support on this topic after getting nothing from Spotify for over a year, but of course Roku can't do anything at all to help get this working, right? I can't believe Spotify really has no interest in all at fixing this. They must have hit some kind of roadblock. The most popu...

Re: Where is Advanced Video Settings?

Either Roku hasn't rolled it out yet or your TV can't handle native 24hz?

Also the Roku app has additional advanced video settings but I don't think that setting is there....

Re: 24P with OS8

It didn't seem to fix the audio sync issues I'm experiencing. It's still sending out 24.000Hz, which I believe to be the culprit. It should be 23.976Hz. My living room TV (Vizio) only says 24 under system info.... It doesn't get anymore detailed than that. Could be an issue they need to work on it ...

Re: Roku TCL TV's: Which models have "soap opera effect" by default or always?

Does the Roku TVs also have the auto refresh rate under advanced system settings? Will that help? What about enabling game mode? Yes a setting should be available. Have you looked in the advanced settings in the Roku app? My Vizio TV advertisers 120hz effective refresh rate but no way to enable or d...

Re: Why doesn't the Roku Stick support an Ethernet Adapter?

Good points. I forgot Amazon's Fire TV line also had usb Ethernet power adapters as well.

They also sell Wifi Access Point Powerline Adapters which have 2.4ghz & 5ghz for places like you mentioned with really thick walls.

Re: Why doesn't the Roku Stick support an Ethernet Adapter?

Roku currently offer two models, the express, and Stick+ neither of them appear to have ethernet Roku offers 5 models, not 2.   The Express, Express+, the Stick, Stick+, and the Ultra.  The Ultra has ethernet. As others have mentioned, wireless works excellent.  I don't even have multiple access po...
